Paid the little bit extra to be able to use spa facilities as we were travelling up from London for a 4 hour function… we’d hoped to relax in the evening after.
I rang ahead of booking to ensure the spa facilities weren’t on a pre-booked basis with Covid. What I wasn’t told is that they were only available between certain times on certain days.
They do offer towels which meant less wet luggage to drive back with.
Unfortunately, despite the booking process, confirmations and emails through the stay stating check out was Midday, they staff were adamant we had to be out our rooms by 11:00. We negotiated that we’d be out the room early, but we’d like to stay in the spa facilities until midday. This was fine until the morning when the new lady on checkout said she couldn’t check us out of our room for housekeeping to clean if we were going to stay in the facilities.
The pictures definitely make the facilities seem bigger than they are. There is one swimming pool (Approx 12m by 10m), one jacuzzi, one small sauna, one small steam room, 4 loungers and 4 upright chairs - on a weekend with wedding bookings - facilities were quite busy at times.
For a night in late August, it was extremely hot, the rooms aren’t air conditioned, no one mentioned a fan, nor is it in the welcome letter, but on the morning of a sleepless night, one was found in the wardrobe.
If you don’t like steps, don’t stay here…
To get to our room we negotiated 4/5 sets of steps / stairs both up and down.
