10/10 for staff, hotel, location & breakfast

Posted 02-Oct-2017
Pros: Everything, especially the breakfast
Cons: A hair dryer in the room would have been a plus but to be honest there might have been one in the wardrobe and i didn't ask
Location: we were there for a wedding rather than being tourists but the little village looked lovely and i know there's a castle and museum nearby
What a lovely little place with the most hospitable staff and the most incredible breakfast. We stayed here whilst attending a friends wedding and because he knew we would be late back the owner asked what time we would like breakfast in the morning. They usually serve between 8 and 9 but were more than happy to let us have a lie in and accommodate us at 930-10. The rooms had everything we needed. Big comfy bed, lovely shower and toiletries and actual milk in an actual fridge in order to make a range of hot drinks. The alarm clock that was in the room was a nice touch especially as we had forgotten our own. A lovely little dresser with a very flattering light made it very easy for me to get ready for my bridesmaid duties. They opened our rooms up early for us knowing we had a busy schedule which was extra special and my friend was vegan and they went out of their way to get her soya milk and vegan butter for her breakfast which wasn't expected at all and was a huge thing for them to have done for her.The cleanest room I've ever stayed in. Spick and span not a drop of dust in site. It was the breakfast that made this stay the creme de la creme. Assortment of juices, pastries, cakes, breads, cereals, fruits and yoghurts was provided in the breakfast room and then we were waited on and served a proper cafetiere of coffee and a pot of earl grey tea (my favourite) and were offered a cooked breakfast any way we wanted it. It was incredible! Thank you for everything!!

A comfortable B&B and the price reflects the local area. A compact, clean room with a good breakfast.

Pros: Quiet and friendly.
Location: Ideal location for the Dales etc. Plentiful good pubs nearby.
We were on a sightseeing and walking break. This hotel could provide most everything we required for the long weekend break.

A great place to relax and enjoy!

Posted 18-May-2017
My husband and I stayed overnight whilst walking the Pennine way. The room was lovely and everything was fresh and of a high quality. We enjoyed pre dinner drinks in the charming sitting room by the log fire. Followed by one of the best dinners we have had on any of our long distance walks. A big thank, we'd definately return.

A fantastic Guest House with a personal touch

Posted 17-Apr-2017
We visited Brunswick House as we were attending a wedding locally and needed a place to stay. The guest house is nestled in a leafy street over looking a river at the back, all very picturesque. Once we navigated our car through the tiniest driveway we parked up and entered the guest house from the rear. We were warmly welcomed by the owner and were shown our room straight away. The room was lovely, all very clean and neat, fresh fruit and tea/coffee and sugar were available with a small bottle of fresh milk ready in the fridge. Dinner wasn't available as had to be pre-booked so would recommend you did this well before your stay but we soon found Dinner at the Teesside Hotel opposite and would thoroughly recommend their food - it was fantastic. The favourite part of our stay was Breakfast - a full range of cereals, fresh fruits, nuts, fruit juices and yoghurts sat beautifully on the dresser on our arrival in the dining room, we then could order a full fry up specifically to our own liking. A personal touch of a Lindor chocolate bunny on our side plates as we arrived for breakfast on Easter Sunday was a lovely idea. I would thoroughly recommend Brunswick house if you were to stay in Mickleton, the warm welcome that awaits you is worth the money and the personal touchs do really set this place apart from the others.

Very nice guest house in a lovely location

Posted 05-Dec-2016
Very enjoyable stay. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. All the rooms, guest lounge and dinning room are well equipped, clean and have recent contemporary decoration. I have a bad back and beds can be tricky for me but I found the bed to be extremely confortable with good balance between firmness / support and confort. The river side patio / seating area would be a beautiful place to sit and have a drink in the summer. We stayed in winter so the temperature didn't lend itself to sitting outside for long! Breakfast was delicious and served cheerfully and promptly. I wouldn't have any hesitation in recommeding Brunswick House.

Great find!

Although we only arrived at 2200 and left by 0930, our bed and breakfast was excellent. We had everything we wanted; the choice at breakfast was fantastic; the service was so efficient; the beds very comfy; loads of hot water in the shower; would love to return for a longer stay.
