However, it is very apparent that the apartment has been rented frequently and has had no repairs done. The repair needs list is quite lengthy (i.e. Curtain hardware falling out of walls making it impossible to open/close dining room window curtains, iron did not work - leaked water, back of the couch broken making it very uncomfortable to sit on, baseboards falling down and much more). When we were oriented to the apartment upon arrival, assurances of repairs of a couple of minor obvious problems were promised but not delivered upon (TV satellite, coffee brewer). Three email messages were sent with no response. This was a surprise as during the arranging of our stay and payment, we received prompt replies to our email messages! The linens and towels are well used with bleach(?) stains and frayed edges. The walls are in need of repair and fresh paint. A bottle of wine, baked goods, mid day meals and other essentials were cheaper than in areas near tourist centers. Lots of small bars that don"t open until later and many tapas joints around the corner seem to serve locals. We had our best meal at the tapas street, but I can't tell you the name of the restaurant It was a fixed three course meal for 12.9 E. All this being said, it is loud with people in the streets until the early morning. Bring ear plugs, lower the metal shades, and you will be OK. The apart is fine for what you need it for and accurately described. It is within a couple hundred meters of the Parelell Metro stop. ##### peter b. The property is located close to many restaurants and just a short walk to La Rambla and Metro station. We found the property clean and well furnished with appliances. The owner allowed us to check in early, which saved us having to haul our luggage around for hours. A nice touch was that the owner provided some food items for us. The location turned out to be great, very walkable. The appliances were excellent. Just a few negatives: The young man checking us in was pleasant, but did not seem to have much information about the surroundings or apartment. Outside was a lot of graffiti and the entrance was dark and dingy with a number of stairs to the second floor. The bedroom needs a door on the bathroom and the couch needs to be replaced. Location makes it easy to get around, taxi so easy from here. Check in was easy and gave us maps, restaurant ideas and places to go. Right by a food street for tapas and local beers.
