I feel extremely ripped off by this hotel. When we booked the hotel through hotels.com the rate was supposed to be just over 100 dollars with the discount applied through the website. The baseline rate it said was $125 a night, before the hotels.com discount. But they didn’t charge us when we booked, instead the front desk charged us over $600 dollars for our four nights when we got there. I suspect they thought they could rip us off with no complaints since we are American tourists. I don’t like to complain or make a fuss while I’m still on vacation btw. Had the stay been pleasant, I wouldn’t be taking the time to write this negative review now. The room was fine, adequate enough, but not worth the rate they ended up charging, which again is not what we were told online. My main complaint, other than overcharging us, is that our room for 2 nights did not have working AC during an extremely hot week in Barcelona during a heat wave in Europe, and they did nothing to discount us other than comp us one breakfast, which by the way was not good at all. It turned out that the AC had not been working for many rooms the first night. By the second night, they had fixed it for all rooms except ours and a hotel staff member came to investigate and could do nothing. He just offered us an available room with working AC with an out of order bathroom (gross). We stuck it out and finally changed rooms before the third night. My GF asked them to comp a night for us, but they wouldn’t do it.
