"We came to Barbeau for an outdoor getaway. Ruthie’s Cottage was the perfect spot for us, clean, comfy beds, cute decor and a gorgeous 2nd floor view of the St. Mary’s River. The hosts were easily accessible and super helpful. The cottage was well appointed and the kitchen was supplied with all you could want for preparing meals The birds serenaded us all day. It is a quick walk to Dunbar Park, a gorgeous boating and picnic area on the River, and close to Cozy Corners restaurant and the Neebish Island Ferry. This property has everything you could want. Thanks to our hosts for making our stay so fun and memorable. "

"Most beautiful cabin in a lovely setting! Extremely well decorated. Didn’t want for anything. Hosts Joyce and Greg very helpful in taking us to the different freighter viewing sites on the island. Definitely plan to return. "

"I'd been waiting 50 years to stay here! A fabulous little "tourist" motel complex literally across the street from the Soo Locks. As a child on vacation, my parents would drive by this modest venue on our way into Ontario to fish and etc. Our destination was never the Soo proper ... But it was mine, last week! Yes, the walls are thin and the venue itself is "retro" all the way, but the people are friendly and, honestly, compared to the two Wyndham properties I stayed stayed at on the same trip --- THIS independent had the a better free breakfast than the "fancy" hotel down the street. Furthermore, the Lockview Restaurant next door, even though not part of the same outfit, will give you a discount if you're staying at the Motel. And the food there is VERY good and generous. I'll be back here, for sure."
