This adorable sea side cottage located on the pebble beach of SW Harbor is literally over hanging the water at high tide. A second floor master king suite with private balcony, bath, wet bar and refrigerator has a magnificent view of the harbor and mountains of Acadia National Park. The second bedroom is a queen suite with private entrance to the first floor balcony. Just 2 miles to Seawall Beach of Acadia, an easy bike ride or walk for many. Some may not leave the cottage at all and just watch the boating activity from the large relaxing decks. Amazing views and large decks. There is a parking spot on site. Fun to watch the tides and hunted for sea glass when tied was low. Quiet location and still easy to drive everywhere. There are some restaurants nearby including “The Upper Deck” with a large menu and great view. We enjoyed watching the boats launch a couple times a day but it wasn’t noisy. When we pulled ourselves away from the view, we enjoyed the nicely decorated home. At high tide the water surrounds 3/4’s of the house. The house is beautiful and in a great location! The owners were very attentive and helpful. We loved it here. Only thing to note is that the property is next to a working boatyard. Work can start as early as 7:00 AM. This cottage was very comfortable for my family of 4\. It’s supremely clean, well thought thru new interiors, well stocked with the essentials. Great views of the harbor from the 2 level decks, specially from the upstairs queen suite. It was a rainy weekend but the house was super cozy to stay in! However the listing doesn’t mention it’s a stand alone cottage next to a port. It was interesting to see them dock the yatch etc but would have been nice to know. Another nice to know inside the house would have been that the upstairs queen suite is accessible via a spiral staircase and that the bedroom doesn’t have a door The downstairs bedroom is sort of tight around the bed, has a door which is covered by curtains but no option to lock. ##### Chitra D. As another reviewer wrote there is action early in am on dock so you will get waken up with boats being put out and such. The only thing that I had not looked at before booking was that checkout is at 9am! That was too early for us with kids but they were unable to change it to later. So if that’s an issue , especially if you have young kids , I would check with them before booking if they can give you a later checkout. Otherwise house is awesome. ##### Mia S. The house is as advertised and in beautiful condition. I have stayed at the location twice ( first time was before it was totally renovated and upgraded by the current owner). The only thing to be aware of is that the house sits right next to the Hinckley boatyard, that is a pretty busy place in the summer with big boats being frequently hauled and put back into the water. While that just adds another aspect of working harbor life, it can get a bit loud at times during the day with the equipment they use, especially in early morning. But since the house does have air conditioning, you do have the ability to shut the background noise out. Absolutely lovely house, well equipped, tastefully decorated, and spacious for a family of four!
