This charming A-frame cabin is on Beech Mountain, the highest town east of the Mississippi River. Less than 5 minutes away, Beech Mountain Ski Resort boasts winter favorites like skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, and snow tubing. The resort transitions to world-renowned mountain biking and hiking trails in the summer. Buckeye Recreation Center is 10 minutes from this cabin, with a playground, volleyball and tennis courts, a fitness area, and Buckeye Lake for fishing and boating. The town of Banner Elk is 15 minutes away, with shopping and great local restaurants. A few other High Country attractions within 20 minutes include Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster, Sugar Creek Gem Mining, Banner Elk Winery, and Sugar Mountain Ski Resort. Rudolph Resort has custom wood features, including wood floors and vaulted ceilings with a wall of windows looking out to the Blue Ridge mountains. The open-concept living area centers around a stacked stone fireplace with an HDTV and cozy leather seating. The kitchen/dining area has stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and accommodates 11 guests. The Master King bedroom is on this level and has a full ensuite bathroom with a separate soaking tub and walk-in shower. There is also a Queen bedroom with a shared full bathroom with a shower. On the upper level is a King bedroom with an ensuite bathroom with a shower. The lower level has a game room with a pool table and cozy seating around an HDTV. There is also a Full bedroom that shares a full bathroom with a shower. The final bedroom is also on the lower level and has 3 Twin beds and a full ensuite bathroom with a shower. The roads were not plowed and even with chains and all wheel drive, the property is not accessible or safe to access. The roads were not plowed and one road was washed out with cones indicating the road was single lane; ditches were covered with snow so we ended up in a ditch when we tried to let a truck traveling in the opposite direction pass us. We had to walk to the property in the dark and leave the car, suitcases and food behind. The porch was an ice sheet and one of us fell trying to open the front door as the ice was in the shape of a hill. The directions to get in were wrong and we had to call for correct information. We had to use a sliding porch door that had less ice abutting it to get in and out. We were provided 2 tow truck numbers by the rental company- one was disconnected and one had a voice mail that they were only open 9-5 on weekdays. As the abandoned car was a road hazard, we called the fire department which did not answer. We called the police and were told the location was not safe. Our insurance company sent a tow truck hours later which had to be chained to a tree in order to not go over the cliff trying to pull the car out. We left when it was daylight and lost substantial funds on rent and ski lift tickets. The rental company misrepresented the property's safety! ##### Nancy B. Stayed 3 nights in Jan 2025 ---
