I've stayed at Somerset Suan Phlu many times, but was disappointed by this visit. There has been a change in staff and perhaps management, and it shows. There was no one from concierge to help with our bags when we checked in. Then, we were given a room that was smaller than on previous occasions. As best I can figure, of the 12 rooms on each floor, 8 are very spacious and 4, due to the floor plan, are smaller and somewhat claustrophobic. When I asked guest relations for extra drinking water on the second day, the request was ignored twice. A third call and small argument resulted in water being delivered, but 15 minutes later housekeeping came with a bill! I had never been charged before and this seemed very petty. I'm booked to return to Somerset Suan Phlu next month and am hoping the management will have sorted out its glitches. If not, after having been a loyal customer for the last three years, I'll be looking for alternatives.

Stor och välstädad lägenhet med sovrum och vardagsrum med kök. Stort rymligt vardagsrum. Tvättmaskin, möjlighet att stryka kläder. Sängen var skön. I badrummet fanns det ett badkar men inte duschkabin så man får stå i badkaret och duscha. Det är helt okej. Dålig lukt inne på toaletten tyvärr. Stor balkong med utsikt. Vi bodde på sjätte våningen men det var helt okej. Det är ganska långt ner i huset. Room service var inte bra. Försökte beställa men de svarade inte förrän efter 1 timme. Personalen i receptionen är trevlig. Området är lugnt och bra. Poolen är under tak vilket är bra om det är soligt. Fin liten trädgård utanför hotellet med lekplats för barn.

Room was absolutely fine. Staff very friendly. My only complaint was that we booked a minibus with the hotel for five people to the airport. We paid 1500 THB. The minibus arrived on time but it had only one functional seatbelt. Knowing the statistics for road traffic deaths in Thailand this is not ok when travelling with three children.

We enjoyed the area with all the variety for food and local culture. We liked that they had a shuttle to the nearest bts but if you have a larger family, it would be quicker at almost the same cost to use Grab or taxi. We picked up a lot of little things from the many 7-elevens in the area. The staff, especially the doormen, were very friendly and helpful. Only issue was that we booked for a family of 5 (with teens) and this property popped up but it really only had beds for 4 people (unless you slept 3 to a king?). It would cost an extra $900 baht/night for a rollaway bed! We just had a person on the couch (which we mistakenly thought during booking may have been a pull out). It may have changed our pick for hotels if we had known the bed situation as there were lots of choice in that price range.
