For starters, the staff at reception was exceptionally rude, especially the man who works the night shift. During our check in, we were treated with complete annoyance and being asked irrelevant personal questions. Our asks for extra towels and hair dryers were completely ignored during our stay. The property itself was disgusting - the cleaning staff did not clean the bathrooms at all. The showers were disgusting and the rooms had garbage in the corners. The tipping point, however, was the number of rats we saw during out 2 night stay. Due to garbage being left out on the common area floors, we saw many huge rats running around outside our rooms and fighting over garbage that was left by the cleaning staff in the open for many hours of the afternoon. Our friend who stayed on the floor below us said he heard rats running around through the walls and ceiling. To add to the above experiences, the toilet in our bathroom randomly stopped working. After a whole day out, we came back to our hotel to discover the flush was not working and were given no explanations on why and no one sent to fix it. Overall, please do not consider UPAR Hotels for your next stay.
