The staff is extremely accommodating and efficient. They have an on-site tour booking agent (yes you'll get the stops at various shops) but they're not high pressure like a lot of tour stops. The pool is amazing situated overlooking the city. The location of the hotel is near lots of malls walkable , BTS or taxi. Shama Sukhumvit Bangkok was the perfect place to recover. Rooms were spacious and clean. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils for basic cooking. Nice sitting area for family. Located in a good area of Bangkok that we like. Location is right at soi 2 and yes it’s where the go go bars are. So u will need a higher floor to stay away from the noise. Not the best if u have young kids who are not familiar with the Thai night life culture. There were women and ladyboys at loitering at the rear of the hotel. But the security was prompt at keeping them out of the property. Not bad for the money. Except I prepaid for 5 mornings for 4 people for breakfast. I only used 1 of the breakfast vouchers because the food was so bad. Cold waffles. Rest was more of a Thai lunch. I complained but was not offered a refund for the money I prepaid for breakfast. I spent 1500 baht per day eating at coffee club across the street every morning even though we had free breakfast at hotel. Pool area could use updated and area not for children. Lots of bars and late night noise. But still hotel is nice for what we needed. Separate bedrooms, kitchen, 2 bathrooms and living room.
