Old motel, nice quiet A/C, bed, hot water all good. Bit pricey for the moderate level of comfort. Clean and good ventilation as there was a stink of deodorant. Would stay again for a good night sleep, but would negotiate for better deal.

Nice venue, dated furnishings and no hairdryer. Hot water took 10 minutes to heat up to a decent temperature.

Worst hotel ever
Booked through wotif many times, the place was disgusting, room was filthy, heater nobs missing, door handles missing, only three lounge chairs in a family room for four ppl and the weekend manager said in his opinion it's less than a three star rating... had to leave our key on doorstep as we left as specified on a note at the front locked reception door... pathetic

Thank you for your comments Rachel, the heater with missing nobs never worked - your heating is the split system unit on the wall. The signage on the door explains that if the door is locked, the staff are working around the motel - a bell is next to the door for attention.

The staff was friendly, polite. The beds were on wheels... on a smooth, flat surface. We rolled ALL OVER THE ROOM. The joke wore thin pretty quickly. My daughter fell off her bed a few times. The beds were so slippery they were near impossible to sleep on. There was also only one blanket between two sheets - not suitable for this area in winter. We were cold. The WiFi password didn’t work for the internet. No value for money.

Good Morning Sarah, apologies on bed rolling around. I will ensure that appropriate measures are taken to stop it happening again. We do have spare blankets in the drawers. WiFi is an issue with Telstra NBN at the moment, hope they ratify the problems soon.

Spacious rooms with a quiet country outlook.
The rooms at the front with the lovely views out to the Victorian countryside are the pick. It seems previous issues regarding hot water (which I noticed mentioned on older reviews) have been sorted. The room we stayed in had been recently renovated judging by the modern decor and floating floor.

Disappointingly Julie, you booked a low budget room for your mother and she was not happy the moment she arrived. Your threats over numerous phone calls did not help the situation and we were glad they left before the police arrived.

Thank you Dan, the rooms are larger than normal motel rooms but sorry about the hard bed. We are sourcing new hot water systems to replace the one we currently have. Hope this happens soon.

We first got the wrong room but the man in the office was happy to change it to one we ordered. They came into our room the next day and emptied the bins, replenishing the toilet paper rolls, turned off our heater but didn’t make the beds. Would have loved the heater on when returned back that evening.

Clean & friendly staff
Staff were friendly & happy to wait as we were going to be late for check in. Room was clean & linen fresh but beds need brakes as they rolled around a lot. It appears that management are refurbishing the rooms & if that is correct I think it will look fantastic.

Very run down. Staff could not issue me a receipt for the full amount paid as we were told a commission was to be paid to website who advertised. This has not happened at any motel we have stayed at previously.

As explained when requesting receipt, we can only issue you one for what WE are being paid by the OTA's. The full receipt should have been issued from them when you did the booking. Would be wrong for us to state you paid us that rate when you obviously did not.

We were disappointed with the facilities. We were lucky to be provided with half a glass of milk which was not replaced. There was 2 cups 2 mugs and 2 sauces and 2 teaspoons, a toaster, jug and microwave. No plates for toast. Microwave had to be moved to reach power point.

Very clean, neat and tidy but overpriced for an older style motel - bathroom exhaust fan and wall lights no longer worked - a peaceful location with lovely wheat field across the road, mattress a little ordinary.

The Motel itself was Ok and it was clean and comfortable but I hadn't realised there was nothing near it. It was very hard to find - a problem with GPS which owner said often happened. Poor Wifi but in fairness it wasn't promoted as having wifi.

A1 hospitality feom the hotel owners
I was late on arrival with my family, crying upset baby, and the hotel owners stayed up 1hr and 15mins after their night time close. They greeted my family with such kindness and had put the heater on in our room for us. The next morning they sent us off with such happy smiles. It was a pleasure to stay at the Cardigan Lodge Motel. I would definately stay there again.

Great place for basic needs.
Arrived late. Host very welcoming. Place was a little out of the way and felt like I was driving into the never-never but everything was perfect once I arrived. The host got me a microwave and made sure I was looked after. Clean and friendly and well worth the $40 saving from staying in a centrally located motel.

Clean & cosy
Our family (2 adults, 2 children) had a wonderful stay at Cardigan Lodge Motel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. It's an older style motel that has all that you need and is pet friendly, although you couldn't tell as there was no dog odour or audible barking).

We stayed one night, had our 4 children with us, two being 10 months old and crawling- they were on the floor playing when we notice nice/rat poo on the floor around the beds!! Disgusting!!!!!!

Nothing was an inconvenience for the friendly welcoming Owners and/or staff; very flexible in meeting customer's requirements whether it be extra late check in/out times or just an extra towel. Ample & secure parking. Would be happy to stay again.

Nice location. Unfortunately showing signs of its age. Beds aren't flat, toilet didn't flush properly, fridge door didn't close properly. On our last night, there was a bug issue and they were able to get into our room. No wifi was an issue as Internet service was slow. Could do with modernising.

Booked 2 rooms on 10/12/16, rooms next to each other. Room 21 had duct tape on both inside and outside of glass door, not sure why, was very cold and had to have heater going all night. Cold water tap had a slow run continually, couldn't turn off,( told manager/caretaker next morning and he thanked me as he stated people don't let them know if there is a problem.),only chill off hot water, to cold for shower next morning. l would have expected that they be checked out for problems when cleaned. Room 22 in better condition but had to let shower run for ages to have a brief shower, microwave in that room was filthy. Doors to both rooms hard to open and lock. At least beds were clean and comfortable. VERY disappointed even though the triathlon was on during that weekend. Only hotel l have ever stayed in where we were not asked wether we enjoyed our stay, l have travelled a lot staying in hotels/motels, and wasn't expecting top of range. Have photos of door but cannot download from this computer.

I booked online knowing this was a budget motel but wasn't expecting it to be not clean, no glasses in the room & not the room I had booked. Also beware that although there is a dining room, it's never open.

4 night stay. Some things could do with some maintenance eg: sticking drawer. Lack of cupboard space. Lousy shower pressure. But overall these are minor and we were quite comfortable.

Overall was quite please with us stay - spacious rooms , friendly staff. However was quite disappointing that it was said at the time of the booking that we would have free internet - BUT did not have any internet facilities at all in the motel DVDs were available but the player was not working Please review the accuracy of the information on the website

Clean and reasonably priced
The bed was very soft and not very comfortable and unfortunately there was no kettle for our morning coffee. The room was perfect for our group with extra bedding and it was nice and warm. I would stay here again.
We have changed our cleaning checklist procedure to check that all appliance are available. Please inform the duty Manager and we will respond immedaitely

Extra toilet rolls are left on the high window skirting. The family room sleep 7 and they have 5 singles and a double bed and where 2 people can sleep in the double. I am sorry that you did highlight these issue to the duty manager.
