Bala Lake Railway - Bala Station

The host was absolutely fantastic and I couldn’t have asked for any more. Apartment was well equipped and considering being in the middle of all the bars and clubs was very well sound insulated. I would recommend to family’s that this is in the middle of a busy nightlife part of Liverpool so may not be suitable for young children. But workers/couples or friends it’s absolutely ideal for being in the centre. Thank you so much :) Sam

The apartment itself was spacious and reasonably clean, and the kitchen was adequately equipped with the basics, including tea, coffee and milk sachets. The beds were comfortable enough for a short stay. Unfortunately, the negatives outweighed the positives. The floors clearly hadn't been cleaned properly as our socks were dirty within minutes of walking around, and the grout in the bathroom floor was very grubby. The biggest issue by far was the noise. The apartment is surrounded by bars, and the noise continued until 2-3am every night. Even after the venues closed, groups of people remained outside shouting and talking in the street, with some drunk people sitting on the apartment doorstep. Once that finally quietened down, the street cleaning and clear-up operations started. The windows offered virtually no soundproofing at all. We could hear people's conversations word for word from outside, making it almost impossible to get a decent night's sleep. We also had a concerning experience with security. When we left the apartment, we locked the door and checked it was secure. When we returned later, the door was open. Nothing had been taken, but it was unsettling and left us feeling uncomfortable for the rest of our stay. This property may suit people who plan to be out partying and want to be in the middle of the nightlife. It might also be more tolerable during the week. However, if you're looking for a comfortable, secure and quiet place to stay, I would not recommend
