Lovely cottage .very cosy and homely.the location is super.some of the equipment in the kitchen could do with updating especially the cooker.on my arrival l couldnt put anything in the small freezer compartment as it was thick of ice.

A delightful cottage in a spectacular location..

Lovely litttle cottage
Overall we liked it apart from the boiler turning off at a set time and the place getting cold by 1am! Oven definitely in need of replacement The views and peace were well needed though

Sorry about the heating but we do tell our visitors at the start of their stay of the boiler times and ask if they would like them changed. We will look at cooker but this is the first comment we have had so we did not know there was a problem. Glad you enjoyed your stay despite the irritations

A lovely cottage for 2 people looking for peace and relaxation. Plenty of walks and views from the veranda over the valley are great. Owners are nearby and very helpful and friendly .

Simply stunning location
Lovely welcome from the owners. Great location for walks, with the dogs and plenty to see. The cottage itself is in the most beautiful location, with stunning views from the porch. We loved our stay and our two dogs were hopefully well behaved. Looking forward to booking again in the future.

Beautiful and quirky place!!
We stayed for 3 nights and absolutely loved it!! The main reason we chose it was the veranda and views, and we were not disappointed!! The veranda is so big that even when it was raining we could still sit outside and stay dry. We spent ages out there watching the birds. Indoors was brilliant too, from the crazy plastic spiral staircase, down to the old hobby horse, there was beautiful quirkiness around every corner! The hosts were lovely and extremely helpful when we had issues with the boiler and a broken chair, they were resolved very quickly. The only thing I would change is that there is a sign in the kitchen asking to make sure you do your dishes ready for the next people. I’m happy to do this and I would have anyway, but our dishes had not been cleaned very well by the previous person, so we had to then wash everything before use. I think all of the dishes should maybe get washed as part of the deep clean between guests? Not a fault of the hosts though, but trusting guests with this might not be the best thing. That was a small issue though, overall we absolutely loved our mini break and would highly recommend to anyone who likes something a bit different and quirky, with lovely hosts and great views!

So glad that you enjoyed your stay and am so sorry the dishes were not as clean as expected. Certainly we will check in future. One last thing!!! The spiral stair case is made of metal, honestly. Just the banister is a plastic compound. All Italian made!!!!!!

Fantastic setting, lovely cottage with views
We loved the location and especially the views which were beautiful and very calming. The cottage is small but very attractive and nicely laid out, it has a lot of character, and we were very comfortable there. Only slight down side for us was we couldn't get the water in the bath to run hot, although Dee offered a possible solution for us - we just couldnt make it work! We didn't push this as we managed fine without, so not the fault of the owners, who were very friendly, welcoming, helpful and respectful of our space - the perfect combination. The setting is fantastic, such a beautiful area, so peaceful and lovely. Don't forget to bring your own soap and shower gel. We would highly recommend this cottage.

Perfect chilled out getaway.
The scenery and views from the barn are fantastic. Literally everything we needed for a break away from the stresses of everyday life. Such a peaceful location with lovely walks from your front door. We'll definitely be back.

Wonderful cottage for a getaway. Brilliant peaceful location with beautiful far reaching panoramic views. Very characterful and especially cosy mezzanine bedroom. Lovely veranda to relax on to enjoy the panoramic views and sunsets. Hosts were always contactable and friendly. Good base for accessing both north and south snowdonia. I would highly recommend staying here, however it is important to note the property does not have a shower. It has a very basic rubber shower hose attachment. Swapping the taps for a telephone style hand held shower/mixer tap would be a quick simple solution. This make the world of difference after a long days hillwalking.

Wonderful hosts and great location
The pictures of the cottage didn’t compliment the styling, it was a beautiful little barn cottage very comfortable. The views were breathtaking and located in a very peaceful area. The hosts were very welcoming and gave us information about the local areas and we got to meet some llamas and had a fluffy companion to make the stay even better 😺

Quiet + Cosy + Amazing View!
What else can I say that hasn’t already been mentioned!? If you have any doubts I guarantee you won’t be disappointed! If you want something quiet, cosy and relaxing then the cottage (barn) is the perfect place to escape busy life. The photos honestly don’t do this place justice, we especially loved sitting outside on the sheltered veranda eating breakfast and dinner with bbq and staring at the endless view. Inside you will find everything you need to be comfortable. Some previous reviews mentioned there isn’t a shower, which is true, but there is a push on shower hose you can use and the bath is huge with a corner seat so we didn’t find it a problem at all. We found the location ideal for exploring other areas as you can reach Snowdonia, north and west coasts in around an hour so really happy we chose this place (after lots of searching!) Many thanks to Dee & Peter!

Booked this lovely barn to get away from it all after a hectic few months at work in the current situation. It did not disappoint. Amazing views! The property felt secluded, but also with easy access to snowdonia and surrounding places. Social distancing is in place, hand sanitiser available etc. We had lovely walks in the vast expanse of woodland right next to the property, and a trip to snowdon, which is just half an hour away. The view from the veranda playing scrabble of an evening was our highlight! Would definitely recommend.

We do say on our write up that the cottage isn't really suitable for people with mobility problems so hopefully the spiral staircase won't prove too much of a problem to those that wish to visit us. A very charming but well-equipped converted barn, beautifully situated on a hill with amazing views. The owners are helpful and welcoming but not intrusive, and evenings on the porch watching the swallows darting in and out of their nests were truly blissful. Nearby Bala has all amenities, and if you get a chance do visit Careau Gardens nearby, a family-run RHS award-winning labour of love.

This cottage was just perfect.
The cottage is quaint and has everything you need to enjoy your stay in this idyllic area. We were lucky enough to have very good weather and the evenings were spent on the veranda having a little wine and a bbq looking at the stunning views.. The hosts Peter and Dee are lovely people and very helpful. They are very knowledgeable of the area. I would highly recommend this property .

Cosy barn with amazing views!
The place was perfect, really cosy and beautifully situated in the most amazing landscape. We got there really late and Dee was very gracious and helpful with directions, plus as we arrived at night we had the bonus of seeing the view for the first time the next morning. The weather was glorious, which helped too, thanks for arranging that! No internet and we couldn't get the TV to work, but that suited us fine as we wanted to get away.

Thank you for your kind comments. I am really sorry about the TV. Perhaps you should have let us know and we would have helped. Seems to be working perfectly now so I don't know what the problem was. As for internet. It is available on 4g by your phone and can be accessed sometimes near the large picture window. Just one of the small inconveniences of living on a mountain!

Cosy and peaceful with stunning views
After all of the build up to Christmas we wanted to escape to some peace and quiet and could not have picked a more perfect place. Dee and Peter are lovely people and make sure you receive a warm welcome. We enjoyed lots of walks with our 2 dogs. The location is great as only a short drive to Bala lake in one direction and Llangollen in the other. The property is very clean but does tend to get warm with the heating especially the bathroom, however this was great on cold nights. Overall we had a great time and would highly recommend a stay.

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location
We just spent 4 days at this wonderful Barn. The cottage is very cosy and well equipped and has everything you need. The view is simply stunning. The cottage has it's own large private garden/driveway that is gated and fenced. A perfect place to spend a holiday with a dog. We explored West Wales (Caernarfon, Llanberris, Zip World etc) and this was the perfect base. And we loved that we gained a lovely cat called Tabitha for a few days. Can't wait to return.
