Supposedly built around 1969, this little cabin was destroyed several times by the river. All the building materials had to be transported by boat and till today, a watery traverse through the often fast flowing river remains the only way of reaching this curious little house. We only had one evening in Bajina Bašta and thus only one chance to get a good shot of this interesting scene. It was very cloudy and it seemed like the light wasn’t really going to play out in our favor. We found this tree right next to the quite busy viewpoint Banjska Stena. We started our hike in Mitrovac and did a circular trail (route 9 to the viewpoint and 9a to go back) which took around 4 hours. There is a road to the viewpoint, so there are far more people than on the hiking trail, but it is still definitely worth a visit.
