Excellent place to stay for a walking break
My wife and I found the Punch Bowl a great place to stay for our walking break. Very well located for our planned walks. Food for each of our 3 nights was first class and breakfasts set us up for the day, Staff were all good and we found Lesley in particular charming with nothing too much trouble.

A great place to stay!
We had a great time. The staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient throughout our stay. The room was warm and comfortable with a really great shower and the food was excellent. This was our second visit and it won't be the last!

Welcoming Inn
Every member of staff we met was professional and friendly. The room was lovely, powerful shower with plenty of hot water. The bed was comfortable and the room was warm despite not having double glazing. The food was top class, we had the fish pie which was full of chunks of fish and served with mussels, king prawns and samphire on the side and the smoked loin of bacon was also delicious and served with home made chips and home made chutney. Breakfast was well cooked and served on hot plates with local ingredients. All in all thoroughly recommended and will stay again.

Perfect
A last-minute to stay after a tiring day and ahead of a long journey, so we just wanted comfort, and an old fashioned pie and a pint. And we got it. A very friendly welcome, a relaxed atmosphere, a great range of local beers in good condition and a spot on menu of traditional and modern food. The pie was baked to order and was exceptional. Add in a great breakfast including locally produced sausage etc and the freshest Yorkshire Dale air. We left properly refreshed, which is exactly what an Inn should provide.

A real find.
Amazing location. Very clean rooms. Quiet location but perfect for exploring Swaledale. Food is hearty and very tasty. Would recommend.

Great hotel

Perfect stay in a stunning location!
Amazing location, the staff went above and beyond. They made such a fuss of our little dog, everything was perfect. Would definitely stay again and 100% would recommend.

Sort yourselves out HOTELS.COM
It was OK. A few finishing touches to justify the price would be nice - e.g. biscuits in the room. Although access to fresh milk for the room was good. Most annoying though is that having pre paid Hotels.com for the room - why am IALWAYS presented with a bill for the accommodation1?. This time the hotel told me credit card had been declined by Hotels.com....EVEN THOUGH I HAD PROOF OF PAYMENT WITH A RECEIPT FROM THEM. Thought I was going to have to pay again. Sort yourselves out HOTELS.COM !

Well worth visiting
Nice room with comfortable bed and wonderful rural view from the window. Very friendly, helpful staff and excellent food. The Punch Bowl is a great base for exploring a most beautiful area.

The place was warm and welcoming from first arrival. We were shown to our room which didn’t disappoint. All the little extra touches had been thought of. We also ate there in the evening and breakfast and the food was wonderful.

Another stay at a great place.
Lovely place with good evening meals. Breakfast is tasty, too. Room was good but on this occasion the temp dropped outside and the room was a little chilly as radiators had not been switched on and the small heater in the room struggled to provide sufficient heat.

A little gem
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Punch Bowl Inn. The room was very comfortable and the view overlooking the valley was beautiful. We were looked after very well and the food was delicious. We will definitely stay there again and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Comfortable base for exploring the Dales
Beautiful setting, comfortable accommodation, good food and lovely staff - a happy place to stay. Appreciated the use of a sitting room and the thoughtful touches like fresh milk and different teas, which gave that little extra.

A very pleasant stay. The staff went the extra mile when we arrived after evening meals had finished, and made two weary travellers a cheese board. Swaledale is very beautiful and we had the added bonus of excellent weather while we were there.

Situated in a beautiful valley in gods own county,. the hotel was clean, the facilities were good and the staff friendly and obliging. Sadly the weather was not too good, but hopefully on our next visit., that problem will be rectified.

A lovely spot
Lovely comfortable room with a fantastic view of the valley, friendly staff I chose the punch bowl partly because of the good reviews for the food ,but my friend and I were disappointed with our evening meal, quite a limited choice, expensive and not really up to scratch , but maybe it was just what we chose.breakfast was good.Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Our stay at the Punch Bowl was very nice. Lovely staff. Food was very good but a lighter meals menu would have been appreciated. Our room no. 8 was lovely - refurb and decor to a high standard. The bathroom mirror over the sink is of no use for close work e.g. doing makeup, dealing with contact lens, The TV screen was too small to comfortably watch.

A weekend of hiking in the Dales
I had a wonderful stay; the team are so hospitable and friendly. The rooms are extremely comfortable. I was extremely well looked after !
