"While I understand the need for non-refundable policies (non-committal bookers, snow conditions etc), I would have expected the hotel to offer some flexibility given the exceptional circumstances when Heathrow airport was closed due to a fire. This could have been offered as a refund or a credit to stay at the hotel at another date, however the hotel offered no flexibility despite the circumstances. Book with caution. "

"I originally planned a single night's stay but was taken ill just as I was about to leave. The hotel were so helpful as they called an ambulance and looked after my belongings whilst I was in hospital. They also arranged for a room to be available for a couple of days when I was discharged from hospital. Very helpful and nice big apartment rooms, with the river running by right out front."

"Property is located in the small Spanish Village of Les. Great Mountain View’s in all directions The hotel is centrally located, close to multiple cafés, bars and a few restaurants that are right along a watershed that runs through the village. Staff was very friendly and accommodating and I got one four parking spots right out front. Stayed two nights and caught the Tour de France in Bagneres de Luchon. "One of the worst travel experiences we've ever had - completely unprofessional and disrespectful. By looking at other people's reviews, it appears that we are not the only travelers to have our booking cancelled by Hotel Vacanceole without notice. Concerned by an email we received, we called our travel agent twice to confirm that our booking was still valid - and were reassured both times that the Hotel said the room was still available. After reaching the hotel, we arrived only to find out our room had been given away. No notice, no explanation, and no effort to make things right. There is no person attending the “reception desk” – this is not a hotel. To make matters worse, when we tried to call the company’s central reservations line, they said that they "don’t speak English” and hung up on us. Unacceptable behavior from any hospitality provider, let alone in the tourism industry. This experience was not only a major disruption to our trip, but also a glaring example of how not to treat guests. We strongly advise others to think twice before booking with this property or company. There are better options for real hotels directly across the street."
