"Arrived at c2045h to be told that my bedroom wasn't ready! First time in 30+ years of business travel that has happened to me at that time in the evening! The reception staff were apologetic and offered me a free drink - so that offset some of the hassle...but the last thing you want when you arrive at that time is to be told the room isn't ready. Breakfast was v busy with long queues - lots of groups booked in, which resulted in long delays at the buffet and lots of empty pots of breakfast food. The staff replenishing the pots (esp on the cooked breakfast) looked about as happy to be there as they would be locked in a prison cell...very miserable and dour! Other facilities were fine. Room was spacious and well appointed. Car parking is good (but expensive)."

"A really convenient hotel for central Oxford (and Blenheim) as close to the park and ride. There's a bus stop directly outside the hotel that takes you right into the centre of the city for less than £3 - meaning you can avoid the congestion & clean air zone charges by leaving the car in the huge car park. Reception is lovely, as are the staff, lots of little extras...free fruit, free cold drinks & spritz for the grown ups - which on the hotest day of the year was very welcome! The bedroom was spacious & the air con actually worked & the room cooled within minutes, which as the temps reached 34° was a huge bonus & meant we slept soundly! Only criticism would be, whilst the bedroom looked relatively newly renovated, the bathroom was dire!!! The bath had repairs around the edge with sharp edges on the bath side, the door hinges were orange with rust and the bottom of the door had huge chunks of psint missiing... tbf the whole bathroom felt like it hadn't been updated since the early 80s & it was tiny! The bedroom was huge & could easily have given space up to a larger bathroom. We only stayed for one night so didnt raise the issue with the poorly repaired bathroom with reception, but when I stay here again (and I will stay here again!) I will insist that the room we are given have a much better/updated bathroom next time."

"Advertised as Family friendly so we booked an expensive 1 night stay. For myself my wife and my 4 year old daughter as it had a swimming pool. We were told when we arrived my daughter could only access the pool if she was 5. This was only hidden in the T&Cs and not flag until we arrived despite giving my daughters DOB. We were going to get a relatively early and restful night but the loud base and music until midnight put pay to that. Our room was facing the open door of the after venue and again this wasn’t flagged at all. When you pay £500+ for a one night stay you don’t expect this. Could have been a lovely stay but definitely tainted."
