With new rules, restrictions and safety measures in effect, travel looks a bit different these days. These are some handy things to know before you jet off to Avsa Island:

• Requirements state you must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at screening checkpoints. Be ready to adjust your mask for ID verification when asked.
• Rather than handing a TSA employee your boarding pass, position it straight on the scanner yourself. After that, hold it up for inspection.
• You can now take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on bag. You'll have to remove it for X-ray screening.
• Put any personal items (like your phone and wallet) in your carry-on instead of a bin to minimize handling during the screening process.
• Transport your food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Separating food from your carry-on means it's less likely a TSA employee will need to touch and open your bag for inspection.
