The carpark was almost full by midday and could be a problem during busy periods. We were too early to check in but the receptionist gave recommendations where to have lunch. The room was prepaid and as expected a credit card was required for any extras, unfortunately the bar staff refused to allow drinks to be charged to the room – the management apologised for this when it was brought to their attention. Overall, it aligns with the standards expected of a Mercure hotel. Regrettably, I experienced a disappointing lapse in service. After departing for Monaco, I realized I had left my coat in the wardrobe. I requested assistance from the Novotel reception in Monaco, also part of the same hotel chain, to contact the Mercure Pont d'Avignon and arrange for the coat to be forwarded. However, after two days with no action, I was forced to drive back to retrieve the coat myself. We booked rooms that were described as having a desk and there was no desk. It would have been impossible to fit in. Rooms were clean but VERY small. The air con was very noisy (couldn’t sleep with it on) so we had to just sleep with the window open and the noise that goes with that when your room over looks the restaurant area. The bar/restaurant staff were very pleasant. Some of the front of house - less so and borderline rude when we were asked on checking out if there were any issues. I said the rooms were very small and misrepresented in the description. They just said it was Expedia’s fault. Great location and the town is lovely.
