The unit was spacious and clean, well appointed, and very charming. The location with the old city ramparts is central to all of Avignon’s sites, particularly the Palais de Pape. I would recommend this apartment for anyone who is tired of hotels and want to spread out a bit. Our only challenge was arranging for our meeting to get key - Evelyn only speaks French which was a challenge for us. Clos des Arts is within 15 minutes walk of so much. It's even in some of the guidebooks in its own right. This apartment a clever conversion of one of the cells and part of the arcading of an ancient alms house. It is well presented with some lovely pieces of sculpted wood furniture. For a couple, it is comfortable, and excellently equipped for self catering using either the wonderful fresh ingredients from the nearby market or heating up an offering from the excellent traiteur a few steps away from the front door. Phillipe gave us a warm welcome despite our 10pm arrival and was an excellent host. Thank you providing us with such a perfect pied a terre for our visit. ##### Martin P.
