This is a lovely traditional cottage with ample living space and bedrooms for a family celebration. Very comfortable beds and the kitchen and bathrooms are modern and suitable for our needs. Bit disappointed that considering the cost there was no tea bags/coffee/pint of milk or a single dishwasher tablet or salt/pepper for example, these little things make a big difference on arrival. We have stayed in many self catering homes throughout Scotland and this is not the norm- remember to come fully equipped! Saying that I would recommend a stay, the outdoor deck was a great addition and we all enjoyed the walks along the river direct from the garden. ##### Patricia m. This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 8/10 Good 1 Nov 2025 #### Perfect location for a family stay with everything on your doorstep We had a wonderful stay as an extended family of 7 staying at spey cottage. The house had everything we needed, it was cosy and the stove and wood was a real treat to warm up after an autumn day. The cottage was a perfect size, and location was perfect. We loved being able to walk to many amenities and was very quiet despite being beside a railway line. The only downside for us was that there were aspects of housekeeping that were overlooked. There was a broken glass bowl in a drawer in the kitchen. All the broken parts had been placed in a different bowl but I suspect all drawers were not checked between guests to ensure safe removal of glass. The dishwasher also had an error code from day 2 and despite contacting maintenance via the number on the app, we did not get a response. These are minor details though that are easily fixed and would in no way stop us from booking again ---
