Our overall stay was pleasant. The room we had was a standard cottage, with a queen bed. Eventually, we were upgraded thanks to the kind staff.

The rooms could use a little fixing but overall it's a great value for Catalina! We book a cottage at Hermosa every year and always have a great time. The staff is very friendly, especially Alex at the front desk! He really made us feel welcome and we will be returning again next year:)

The bed was clean and comfortable and nice refrigerator. Convenient location. The overhead fan was on full blast the whole time and the fan lights were off. Mold on the shower entry. No place to hang clothes and no drawers. I would not stay there again unless it was completely refurbished.

We have stayed here before so we know what to expect. It's an older hotel and requires a lot of maintenance. Our small cottage was clean but small. It had a small kitchen so we were able to prepare breakfast. The kitchen was not well equipped but the front desk provided the items we needed. It was quiet and the bed comfortable and it has a great location. The price while not inexpensive is lesser priced than other Avalon properties. I don't know if I'd stay here again but not taking it out either.

This is a very old hotel, most likely a rooming house back in the day. So while everything was clean, it was a bare-bones room (2 double beds). The shower worked well but had little room to move around in. There was no place to set luggage on or hang anything on other than a hook over the bathroom door. I understand the minimal space allows barely enough room to walk around in, but a small bench to set luggage on would help. The air conditioner and fan worked well.

Positive….the staff was kind and smiles! Sooooo… I was under the understanding that the hotel had been revamped/ updated. In all fairness, maybe the hotel itself has been, but we were in the bungalows and they had not. The potential of charm and character is there. It just needs some property owner love and some money to update. Tile was broken, shower was old as old and the water situation was a tad sketchy. The pipe caulking everywhere plus rust and discoloration. The white towels were dingy from multiple use. The air conditioning/heating unit is very loud with 3 different sound cycles. This is a honest review. Again, With some money, love and decore/time…the bungalow would be so amazing!

Absolutely loved my stay at Hermosa Hotel. Was comfy and cozy and a lot of room for solo travel. Hotel was in a perfect spot in town that made it easy to get around & access everything on the island. Can’t wait to go back!!

Our room was on the smaller side but it worked for us since we didn’t spent much time there. The room had a microwave and fridge which was very convenient for us. There was a small shelf we were able to use as a table but we made the small space work for us. The AC worked well and kept our room cool. The location was also perfect for our weekend trip. I would stay here again.

Amazing staff here all around. Floors were a little dirty and the hot water is scalding hot just be careful, all else is amazing here. Complimentary coffee/tea, storage, lounge area and bar seats. My favorite place to stay on Catalina.
