Perfect Location
This was the perfect place to stay to attend the Masters, or to simply enjoy the outdoors along the water. We spent a lot of time at the firepit looking out over the water, and watching some Masters coverage on the comfy couch in the living room. Great communication from the property manager. Would definitely stay here again!

Not up to par
House and grounds were beautiful…. Outside of that the grill almost caught the house on fire because the grease trap was caked, there were cockroaches in the house, a previous tenant had burned some sort of plastic in the oven and when we turned it on it filled the house. When talking with the listing agent some of the pricing for the downstairs additional space was not what was listed on VRBO. We eventually agreed upon the listed price but after several texts and a phone call and me having to zelle the money over for it. I spent the first about hour I was there trying to get the internet fixed. Not to mention she charged me for a party saying I had more then the allocated guests but I had now rented the additional downstairs space and was never allocated additional persons now that I had more beds. I was also charged $1500 for a chair that broke the FIRST time anyone sat in it and a toilet tank that I’m pretty sure we had nothing to do with it being broken. I’ve rented many houses with this exact group of guys and we have never ever had any of these issues. I would say that she means well and wouldn’t say don’t rent the place but just understand what your getting into it. I had a feeling it would come to this honestly with our initial discussions about the basement additional space and I wasn’t wrong. It was a beautiful place I just think I was taken advantage of financially.

Without being 'nit-picky' about everything he mentioned, I will simply state that my multitude of previous positive reviews will point to the probability that this current reviewer is embellishing and even out right lying. Upon his booking since he asked to rent the whole house due to having 8 men, he confirmed to follow the house rules and stated that he would not have any parties during his stay. The neighbors contacted me about the noise and large number of vehicles that were on my property. Also my neighbor complained that her large street trash can was filled with empty alcohol cans/bottles and upon looking ours was too. We found ladies undergarments under the pool cover upon opening it. There is a penalty fee for having an unapproved party for which he was charged. The charges that he is attributing to a broken chair are untrue! They are in fact charges for breaking the house rules by having a party and for breaking the toilet that required complete replacement.

Best vacation
I really enjoyed the property. The house is very beautiful and spacious I love the man cave it looks right out over the river with a great view to watch the sunset on the river and the fishing is awesome I caught nice size crappie and brims they’re so big I thought it was a bass I’m definitely looking forward to returning to this house I couldn’t have picked a better place for relaxing and fishing great spot. Beautiful Waterfront Property!

Holiday Week
We loved the property. It had plenty of space for our family of four and a family member or two that stayed over a night or two. The fireplace was great and the wood supplied was great! The fire pit outside was fantastic and the views on the river with all of the windows in the house are really out of this world! Kayaks available for a group of people are super and can only imagine how much fun the pool would be in the summer time! KJ was a great host and cares about the people who rent from her! All of the little utensils and small stuff right down to coffee filters and spices were there to make your vacation as enjoyable as can be away from your home.

Beautiful, clean house on the river.
Beautiful, clean house on the river. Tons of activities to do from, kayaking, swimming in the pool, corn hole, fire pit. Right near downtown Augusta with lots of great restaurants. Beautiful sunrises from the deck with your morning coffee. Covered lower deck for the hot afternoons. Very private and quiet.

Charging to lower the A/C is a new low for humanity...
The house looks great the property looks great but the fees are insane so be sure to read everything. First you can't check in till four so you lose the first day. No problem I got there at 3:53 and the maid and landscaper were still doing their thing. No problem lets go see what's nearby. Nothing. There is one convenience store with The cashier sitting behind 8 inches of bullet proof glass so we immediately knew we were in the good part of town. There's nothing to walk to and the closest grocery store is about 10 minutes away. The house itself though is very isolated and I never felt like we were in a bad area until we left to go to the convenient store. We came back at about 453 after and the maid and landscaper were still there surprisingly. At this point I called KJ who told me to call her when we got there to go over responsibilities I would have while at the property. Totally Understandable. She told me that the following day the pool guy would be by to clean the pool and the pest guy would be by to do some work. Ok, I want a clean pool and no bugs but why wasn't this done before we got there? No problem. I was then on the phone with her for a good 45 minutes going over everything that had to be done like removing the sump pump on the pool and removing the pool cover and a bunch of other things. Ok no problem.. the maid was done an hour after we arrived. my wife informs me that one of the bedrooms is 85° I told KJ that there was obviously a problem because the rest of the house seem Ed like the air conditioning was working fine. At this point I almost blacked out because I wasn't expecting to hear what I heard. KJ said she would lower the air conditioner to 75 to see if it would get cooler. Lower to 75?!? At this point I almost passed out. She then explained she controlled the ac through wifi and if we wanted it lower we could pay a fee... A fee for air conditioning?! In Georgia in August. I already paid a water fee, wifi fee, electricity, $350 cleaning fee and $250 service fee. The mortgage. Well The air conditioning in that room still didn't work and none of us could sleep in that room the first night. She did get him there the next day and it got fixed. Never offered to make it right, just treated me like her house sitter. I own a small business and couldn't imagine my customers having to sleep on the couch because they had no ac for the night . And then charging to lower it?! I'm done with Vrbo Fees are insane.

Perfect Getaway
My family wanted to enjoy a last minute vacation before the start of the new school year. We decided on a lake house because we enjoy boating and fishing . KJ’s place had all the amenities to enhance our stay. We enjoyed kayaks, fishing, canoeing and swimming in her amazing Olympic size pool. kJ was a great hostess who supported our visit from beginning to end . We truly had a perfect getaway. The home was clean and well stocked with household necessities including kitchen utensils and linen for the bedrooms . We highly recommend this rental for families who love nature and love to fish .

Relaxing
This is an incredible house!!! The owner KJ was so sweet and helpful. My favorite part was drinking my morning coffee on the deck with the binoculars watching the turtles and birds, then going for a dip in the lush pool when it would get too hot. ( maybe suggest an awning to keep the deck cooler). We pretty much stayed in the pool. Hubby enjoyed the kayaks and fishing from the dock. The beds were comfy and the 2 person shower was fabulous!!! Lots of great local restaurants, Fog and Hen, Frog hollow tavern, and Boll Weevil were our favorites. The river walk was nice great and when it got too hot we came back to house to enjoy the pool. Thanks again for such a great relaxing vacation!! My only regret is we should have booked more days 😊

Hearing of your morning time watching the turtles reminded me of so many mornings watching the river otters. They would even jump up on our dock! There’s nothing better than feeling like you’re out in the country five minutes from downtown Augusta Georgia. Great to hear you enjoyed the restaurants! It is quite eclectic in full of a positive vibe especially with all those great chefs that are making their name on the locals. Bollweevil is our favorite too! I will look forward to your return! The River House is everything the posting demonstrates, and KJ is a very attentive and caring host. Our family was looking for a lakefront property with a pool to spend a week at. We found the River House to be in excellent condition and very clean. The kitchen was well equipped. Every day we enjoyed kayaking the Savannah River and the pool. Lack of Communication
The house was fine, kitchen stocked well and generally everything in clean, lightly worn, order. The living room couch could definitely be replaced due to the peeling pleather. The problem really started before arrival when the owner frequently communicated their expectations for my upkeep of the place. Not a very welcoming environment to relax in as there were meticulous processes outlined of what you can or cannot do. I even shared that this was more effort than expected for a quick getaway but was assured I would be fine….the real problem came upon arrival to find the main reason I chose the house - the pool- was not working. The owner had so frequently communicated when it was in her best interest but when it came to informing me that I wouldn’t have access to the most important part of the trip, they failed to give me any options. It was on us to understand what was happening and how the issue would be resolved. The owner did not even offer a credit, I had to request it. Eventually they did provide a very small credit back that did not compare to similar rental prices (without pool). My disappointment with this home had to do with the owner only caring about her best interest - my money- and not my experience. I would not go back simply for the fact I can’t trust the owner to care for my stay. I spent a lot of money and I expected to get what I paid for. It didn’t come close and caused me more stress than I came with.

The circumstances surrounding this unfortunate occurrence started a couple days before their arrival and had to do with the pool pump malfunctioning. I was working non-stop with my pool technician to obtain and replace the pump. That did not fix things. He then went out to purchase and replace the electric timer. Neither of these installations fixed the problem. Then on the July 4th, holiday weekend, I rushed to find a master electrician willing to come. He eventually determined with much effort that the main power line coming from the breaker box was disrupted underground somehow. He would have to return on his vacation to run a new electrical source from the breaker box the following day. At this point these guests were checking in with a pool that was not functional. I apologized over and over and explained every detail of what happened. The female guest was very unhappy and let me know about it as I was in touch with them throughout this entire process. I purchased passes to the local water park for them to use. In addition they had the river available for swimming, kayaking, jet skiing or boating. Nothing was satisfactory and I told them I would be reimbursing them a portion of their stay due to the pool problem. It is always my highest priority to make sure that my guests have a clean, well stocked home to enjoy and that they understand how everything works there. It is a large property with many little things to understand and thus, I explain it all in detail for their enjoyment and safety. One interesting note here is that after this family checked out, I received a message from the male guest that stated, “Thanks again for your attempts on getting things fixed. If you ever want to sell your property we may be interested.”

40th Birthday Getaway
Wow, wow, wow!! KJ’s river house was every bit as described in the listing and more!! The house, pool and yard are literally a stones throw from the river. We loved the open deck overlooking the river, it was so peaceful to sit there and enjoy a fire in the evening. The house was immaculate and well stocked and furnished. We loved the open floor plan and especially the sunroom and deck overlooking the river. KJ gave us permission to bring a boat and jet ski, which we had great fun riding up and down the river, fishing and hanging out at the nearby sand bar. Also very convenient location near downtown Augusta and our favorite restaurants!! We enjoyed it so much we weren’t ready to leave and booked an extra night!! We can’t wait for our next visit!!

Beautiful home with an even better owner
This is the 2nd time my wife and I have vacationed here. And to be honest, if we ever get an opportunity to travel the two of us again, this is where we will be looking first. It truly has everything you could ask for, privacy, a wonderful pool that always seem to be the perfect temperature, beautiful inside, and a ton of other things to do, like Kayaks, and cornhole boards, not to mention the golf tee. The views are even more impressive. It is nice to be able to look out any window and see the river. The sunrises and sunsets are a site to see. The photos don't do the place justice, it is even better in person. KJ does a wonderful job communicating things to you, as well as answering any questions quickly. She makes checking in and checking out simple, and she gives great details in her instruction to help make sure everything goes smoothly the whole trip. We were sad to leave, and it really seemed like it flew by. We honestly barely even left the house and the pool the whole week.

Relaxing stay at the River House!
Our stay at the River House was just what we needed! The property was secluded, quiet and clean with spectacular views! We took full advantage of the fabulous pool daily with infinity style views of the river, as well as the ample picturesque seating for getting it our vitamin D or relaxing in the shaded area underneath the deck. Even with the single tenant on the lower level, I felt absolutely safe having have young teen girls there. We felt like we were on our own when we used the BBQ and fire pit areas on the lower level. KJ was super friendly, very attentive and responsive. We will definitely take the opportunity to return!

Wonderful Getaway!
We were so excited to have booked this property for a family getaway. Upon first seeing the house and property we were amazed at how beautiful it was. Everything was just like the pictures. The house itself was beyond what we expected and the view was absolutely breathtaking! This was everything our family was wanting. We went kayaking with the owners kayaks, fished, swam in the huge pool, and even made s’mores at night at the fire pit. The host leaves a basket of golf balls, but my son and husband had so much fun trying to hit the balls to the other side of the river..we had to get another bucket. The host mentions that there may be one woman staying in the downstairs part of the house however we never saw her or even heard any noise from below the entire time we were there. Contact with the host was excellent. It was the perfect weekend..Thank you!!! We will be back!

I try to ensure guests that 'IF' there is a guest to the downstairs they do not use any of the amenities during the upstairs guest stay. The property and home is very large with the parking and entries on opposite sides of one another. We are a military medical family so we offer monthly stays to one person who works full time who simply needs a clean safe place to sleep. YOUR review validated the truth that the booking will result in a private experience with no sharing of the spaces. Wonderful getaway
This was a wonderful place for us to escape for spring break. We had a pool, kayaks, kitchen to cook in and much more. We enjoyed a baseball game near by in north Augusta, walks along the river walk in Augusta, seeing the James Brown statue, and wonderful places to eat. kJ did such a great job at providing a safe and comfortable place to stay, and also giving advice on fun things to do as a family. Golfing over the river or over the pool was equally fun. We would definitely return to this great property.

I enjoyed the photo of your kids shooting golf balls and playing the new corn hole board set outside told me that was a much needed upgrade! Downtown Augusta is like a mix of Savannah and Charleston with all its charming shopping and restaurants. It is a fun place to walk and enjoy Southern Hospitality without all the crowds... Such a great comment, 'tucked away'! And yet only 5 min to downtown Augusta! I've also heard, 'Diamond in the Ruff' since the River House has a thick wooded area buffering it from the street. Most Augusta locals don't even know of this stretch of River Frontage estates and yet after living in Augusta, while serving in the Army, it became our favorite place to be. We felt we were on vacation when at the River House and didn't have a desire to go anywhere else. Our 4 sons loved all the water sports available and it occupied them and their friends ALL day! So glad you felt you were able to relax while at the River House! Thank you for choosing me to host you! It was such a pleasure sharing our home with you!

Hi KJ! My family and I would like to thank you for sharing your beautiful river house with us. It has been a while since we have had a chance to all get together for a much needed vacation. Spending Thanksgiving at the river house may just become a new tradition. My dad got a chance to fish. He was in heaven! Lol... It was absolutely beautiful. The home was everything we thought it would be and more. It was spotless when we arrived and fully stocked with blankets, linen, towels, and kitchen ware. You really thought of everything! I loved that everything was clearly explained on-line and once we got there it was visible as well. The views of the lake were breathtaking. Thank you for being so accommodating with any concerns. Amazing stay!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Because of the weather, we weren’t able to enjoy the pool, but everything else was perfect. You couldn’t ask for a better location. Hidden away, but very close to everything you need. KJ was a great host and made sure we were comfortable. We will be back!!

Thank you for your review! I work hard to provide what you commented on. I smiled at your comment of the new carpet looking like clouds as that is the first I've heard that. It must be because the wide open windows allows for the feeling of bringing the outside in. The grand openness of the sky over looking the wide Savannah River and the forest with hills and only nature beyond the river give a cloudy sky a fantastic reflection off the river and into the house! Misleading
Clean, nice view of the river, but didn't know we would have "company" sharing the pool, no control of the thermostat(controlled by owner remotely). Had to call multiple times to cool off the home. Never had an experience like this before. Will not be recommending this home to anyone, unless changes are made.

Thank you for your comments but they are misleading since my listing does explain that there are 2 AC units (4 ton and 2 ton) along with 10-55" ceiling fans and an attic industrial fan to provide cool temperatures to the 2200 sq ft. space on a schedule controlled by the Nest thermostat at what is considered by most persons comfortable temperatures. Sadly, there is no positive feedback for gladly accommodating the very low room temperatures you requested nor updating the listing after your comment to ensure clarity. It seems that though you enjoyed the lower cooler temperatures, comfortable sleep, privacy and river views you still poorly recommended this home even after changes were made to help your stay be comfortable. I appreciate feedback to improve a guest stay and I immediately seek to improve matters just like in your case. However, even though you knew these facts after speaking with you to ensure your comfort, you were still intent on a seeing the negative. :(

Beautiful and relaxing vacation!
We had a great time visiting the River House! The view of the river is fantastic no matter the time of day, but especially in the morning. KJ is a phenomenal host! The house was exceptionally clean with comfortable beds. We really enjoyed fishing off the dock and caught a few fish! The kids loved the pool and it was nice to be able to jump in the deep end! There were a lot of pool floats and toys for everyone. It was private, so long as there isn't someone staying in the apartment underneath the master bedroom. If you think you may want total privacy and quiet, I would recommend renting the downstairs apartment with your stay. Fortunately, it was just one night we shared that space. Overall a great experience!

Didn’t want to leave this secluded river getaway…
My family and I stayed at the river house for 10 days and it was so fun. It was me, the wife and 3 of my kids. We booked the stay for the outdoor fun and had just as much fun inside. There was plenty of space for us to come together to play games, watch TV or hide away to ourselves. Waking up every morning to the beautiful river view was awesome! You can see them from every room in the house and the Sunset is just as awesome from the balcony! The beds were very comfy. Every thing was very clean with plenty of linens for our use. Our favorite place to hangout was in the pool. The weather cooperated nicely and we were able to enjoy it the entire trip! Our host was very nice and responsive to any questions we had. Didn’t want to leave this beautiful secluded river front paradise! We will definitely be back!

WOW! 10 Days at the River House with all the WATER SWIM n RIVER VIEWS GALOR sounds like mega FUN! Memories with your family is the BEST! SO happy for the opportunity to host you and your family! Great to hear my recent adding of the extra table and 4 chairs in the great room with some puzzles and games were used! It almost feels like your in a house boat when in the upstairs because you only see changing water views with no land. It is great to hear how you all enjoyed your sleep too! Breathtaking views!
KJ was an excellent host and made us feel right at home. From day 1, she was very helpful and her instructions for the house and Pool was easy to follow. We are beach lovers and never rented a river house but this had everything we wanted! We wanted our own privacy and enjoy the scenic views from sunrise to sunset. We also went jet skiing nearby just a few miles from the house with my boys for a few hours and had an amazing time with an excellent tour guide who I highly recommend reserve & ride water sports. He’s a local owner and gave us a lot of history with the savannah river and Augusta. Thank you again KJ for allowing us to stay at your beautiful riverfront home!

K.J's river house was an excellent choice! We were looking for simple relaxation and we found it! The house was very clean and comfortable! It's secluded and peaceful being right on the river. The pool was awesome. There are plenty of chairs & pool floats for all. K.J has made sure to provide everything you'd need during your stay. A well stocked kitchen, more than enough towels and extra bedding if needed. Definitely your home away from home. She made sure check in went smoothly for us and gave us some great info about the area. Really a wonderful host! Next time we're in the area, this is where we will stay!

Had a great time swimming and fishing. We brought the boat and left it tied up at the dock when not fishing. Spent hours soaking in the pool for relaxation with beautiful views. Would come back for another visit. Thank you KJ!!!!!!

Amazing Views. Pictures do not do it justice.
My wife and I stayed here as a kind of late anniversary. We mainly chose the property because of the seclusion it gave and the pool. KJ was always great at communication, even before we booked the place. However, once we saw it, we were amazed by how beautiful it all was. The view of the river, the inside of the house, and the amazing views you got from the bedroom and deck. The master bathroom was huge as well. We both agreed that the place looked even better in person than the pictures. The pool was equally, if not more amazing. My wife prefers a warmer pool, and while the pool was not hot, it was certainly not cold (which we preferred). Eventually, anytime we were out we were just in the pool the whole time. Although, we were told we could cool it down if we needed by adding water. Also, the bug situation was awesome. I am like a mosquito magnet, and I may have gotten one bite, and it could have been while we were out. The communication was so nice as well. She gave very detailed instructions and advice, and everything went smoothly. My wife kept talking about how the vacation was dreamlike. We most certainly hope to be back, and would highly recommend this to anyone, as we already have.

Amazing river house!
First of all, the river house is the best value we have seen on any rental site. So many amenities for the price paid! The house itself is spacious and comfy, everything clean and well kept. The property is lush and private, and the view is incredible! The host, KJ, is attentive and super helpful in every way. From fishing off the dock, to jumping in the pool, the river house is a tranquil relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle. Book it!

Communication with owner was thorough and clear. House was very clean, and was stocked nicely with all the basics. The back of the house is almost entirely windows, so the view of the river was beautiful. Morning coffee on the back deck was bliss! Pool was nice, and there were plenty of floats and toys under the house.

Gorgeous view and spacious house
Overall the house is beautiful, very spacious, private and has an amazing view and spectacular pool. The house is set back off the road and literally right on the river. There is a house next door but with the trees and foliage you would never know. There is two rentals for this house and we had the upstairs however no one had rented the downstairs during our stay. We were in the pool every day and loved it. The car port was nice as it kept the car cool. Would definitely recommend you checking this property out.

Relaxing getaway
We enjoyed our stay at the River House. My husband and I stayed for two weeks to have a change of scenery while working remotely. This home worked out perfectly for us. There was plenty of space for us to set up our workstations, including an extra dining table in the main area and small desk in the bedroom that were not pictured online. The space has a very open layout, with plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen was well stocked with seasonings and lots of cooking utensils, plenty of glasses & plates, blender, toaster, and dishwasher (with soap supplied). Also plenty of extra bath towels, pillows, blankets, etc. The master bed was comfortable and the shower was awesome! (we did not try the jacuzzi) We ate almost every meal on the deck, looking out at the river. The pool was great, super relaxing, and there's plenty of furniture you can move into the sun or leave under the house in the shade. The dock was under repair, but this didn't impact us. The location was very convenient, closes to downtown Augusta and some really great little restaurants. We are from out of town and enjoyed the farmers market on Saturday mornings by the river downtown. Communication with KJ was great. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would recommend the house for a fun and relaxing getaway.

Once I get the photos I will post them. It was great to see your photos of the fun wild life to be seen on the river. There is always a new surprise to behold every time you look at the views! I loved the photo you sent me of the family of turtles riding the floating log! I will post that for others to enjoy! TY! I am thrilled you found everything you needed with the kitchen supplies and enjoyed grilling in the evenings. SO glad you slept well! Perfect Getaway
KJ was more than responsive to any and all message I sent her first and foremost! We had open and honest communication from the date of booking this transaction, and within a timely manner which is a breath of fresh air! The house and property were lovely to stay at and the perfect getaway for myself, husband and couple we were traveling with- serene and relaxing, our own oasis and paradise. We brought our 2 motorcycles down by trailer which KJ was able to supplement with ample parking and riding routes. KJ went above and beyond to provide to what we needed for a great stay and honestly a budding friendship to say the least. Would highly recommend her or any of her properties to friends.

Great stay at the River house !!
We will definitely be back for numerous stays at the river house . Upon arrival Debbie the housekeeper left us homemade treats that the entire family enjoyed! It was spacious and had so many fun things to do(swimming , golf and our favorite..fishing)! We caught several fish and that was a highlight for us . The pool was huge and the entire family enjoyed it . KJ was excellent with communication and made sure that you had everything you needed. If we had an issue KJ would respond quickly and make sure everything was taken care of . Thanks again KJ and Debbie (housekeeper)we really enjoyed everything including your hospitality!!

My family and I had a wonderful time staying here. We are from Michigan and wanted to head south to somewhere warm that had a pool, fish, and private but close to restaurants. Lots to do on property to keep everyone entertained. The water view is so beautiful and peaceful. The property is very well taken care of and clean. Communication was never any issue at all as KJ was quick in response and super sweet to work with! True southern hospitality at its best!

Peaceful Secluded River oasis
I stayed here while filming a Tv show in Augusta, the house was perfect, very secluded & pvt, lush landscaping/ garden property along the peaceful Savannah river. Close to everything! The house was very clean and comfortable. I enjoy cooking and the kitchen was perfect. The outside deck was great for working out. Week of relaxation
Hi, here is what I would like to put in as our review of stay: We stayed for a week at the Riverhouse and truly enjoyed the stay. We drove from far north in January looking for some privacy and warmth. We found much more than that. The ambience of the house in relation to its location next to a beautiful river was just very relaxing. We also appreciated the proximity to major cities like Charleston, Atlanta, Greenville, and Charlotte. Last but definitely not the least: our host worked hard to make it easy for us all the way from the first inquiry till we checked while never imposing upon us... true “southern” hospitality!!All in all it was a time and money very well spent. Would love to be back again soon!!
