It was clean and well-equipped with all the usual kitchen and laundry stuff you would need, plus some beautiful views of the city from the bedroom loft. Christian (the person living in the property's main house) was very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. The only complaint I might have was in the day leading up to check-in - along with the instructions to get inside the key box, there was a request to text a picture of valid ID and credit card to the host. I have heard more than enough scam stories to know to never do this, just seemed illegitimate. I could understand the reasoning behind it, but as we arrived in Auckland (another city we'd never been to) it caused my wife and I some unneeded stress. There was also a COVID tracer app warning that made it seem like you couldn't enter the place without checking into the NZ tracer app (can't remember the exact phrasing). Someone visiting from out-of-country would probably not be anticipating this, especially in 2024, so the Vrbo listing could use an update. All in all though, truly a lovely place to stay. Decor and facilities have been thoughtfully designed for guests. Hosts are welcoming and not intrusive. Surprising is that Onehunga normally wouldn’t be a destination in Auckland however, we found everything so convenient, still being in central Auckland. Shopping and eating out is eclectic in Onehunga with both the village and Dressmart being a 2 minute walk from the property! The electric train just five minutes walk and is a direct line into Newmarket and downtown Auckland City. Easy for us to then catch a ferry across to Waiheke. Lovely day out. ##### janine e.
