About this property

Dual-Level Harbour Apartment on The Wharf

  • A spectacular dual-level three-bedroom apartment in Shed 23 on iconic Princes Wharf — panoramic harbour and Harbour Bridge views, a generous private balcony with outdoor heater, two king beds (each convertible to twin singles on advance request) and a queen, one ensuite and one main bathroom, fully equipped kitchen with Nespresso, Smart TVs, in-unit laundry, and secure parking. Sleeps six comfortably. The Viaduct, Ferry Terminal, Maritime Museum, and Britomart are steps from the door.

Dual-level apartments at Princes Wharf are rare, and the position this one occupies in Shed 23 makes it rarer still. Spread across two floors, with the upper level devoted to an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area that opens onto a large private balcony, the apartment has a quality of space and outlook that is genuinely difficult to find in Auckland`s short-stay market. The harbour and Harbour Bridge views from the balcony are panoramic — the kind of view that guests return to repeatedly throughout the day, and that makes evening meals outside with the bridge lights reflecting on the water one of the finest experiences Auckland waterfront accommodation can offer.

The upper entertaining level is the heart of the apartment — a well-appointed open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area with direct access to the private balcony, which is generously proportioned with outdoor seating and an overhead heater for cooler evenings. Air conditioning in the lounge area keeps the entertaining level comfortable year-round. The kitchen is fully equipped for proper self-catering: oven, stovetop, dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, fridge/freezer, and all the essentials

The master bedroom has its own private ensuite; the two further bedrooms share the well-appointed main bathroom. All three beds are come with quality linen — a queen and two kings which can be separated into two single beds on advance request, giving the apartment flexibility for guests who prefer twins. Please let us know at booking if you`d like this arranged. Smart TVs, high-speed WiFi, and an in-unit washer and dryer complete a well-resolved package. Please note: air conditioning is in the upper lounge area only — the bedrooms on the lower level rely on natural ventilation. Secure parking is included.

Princes Wharf is one of Auckland`s most storied addresses. Built in 1929 and named after Admiral Earl Jellicoe, the wharf was for decades the city`s primary point of arrival and departure — the place where ships from around the world docked, and where generations of New Zealanders arrived, departed, and said their goodbyes. During the Second World War the wharf served as headquarters for United States forces in the Pacific. The shed buildings that line the wharf today are survivors of that era — long, beautiful warehouse structures sympathetically converted into apartments, restaurants, and bars by Leuschke Group Architects in 1998, one of Auckland`s most celebrated waterfront regeneration projects.

Today Princes Wharf is home to Somm wine bar and restaurant, Wahlburgers, and a collection of waterfront dining and drinking venues that make the wharf one of Auckland`s most enjoyable evening destinations. The New Zealand Maritime Museum is immediately at the base of the wharf. Free public viewing decks at the end of Shed 23 offer panoramic harbour views available to all. The wharf also serves as a berth for visiting cruise ships — when a vessel is in port, the precinct takes on an even more vibrant and international character.

The entire apartment is yours across both levels — all three bedrooms, both bathrooms, the upper entertaining level with kitchen, dining, and living area, the lower lounge, the large private balcony with outdoor heater, and one secure car park.

Check-in is from 3:00 PM. Self check-in via key safe — full instructions and codes will be sent the day before your arrival. Early check-in can often be accommodated subject to availability — please enquire at booking.

While we will leave you in peace to enjoy your time in Auckland, we are available 24 hours a day for an emergency.

For those non-urgent like-to-haves, just give us a call or a quick message and we will do everything we can to make this your most memorable trip to Auckland yet.

Princes Wharf connects directly to the Viaduct Harbour precinct — one of Auckland`s most celebrated waterfront dining and entertainment areas. Baduzzi, Hello Beasty, Giraffe, and the full sweep of Viaduct waterfront restaurants and bars are a very short walk along the boardwalk. The Auckland Ferry Terminal is immediately adjacent for Waiheke Island, Devonport, and Hauraki Gulf services.

Commercial Bay`s flagship retail and dining complex is a short walk east along Quay Street, as is Britomart`s cobblestoned laneways. Wynyard Quarter`s North Wharf dining precinct and Silo Park are an easy westward stroll. The New Zealand Maritime Museum is at the base of the wharf. The CBD`s Queen Street, Sky Tower, Aotea Square, and the Auckland Art Gallery are all within comfortable walking distance. Spark Arena is nearby for events.

Princes Wharf is one of Auckland`s most walkable waterfront addresses. The Auckland Ferry Terminal is immediately adjacent for Waiheke Island, Devonport, and all Hauraki Gulf services. Britomart Transport Centre is a short walk with full train network connections. The waterfront promenade connects east and west along the full harbour edge. Secure parking is included for guests arriving by car. Auckland Airport is approximately 30 to 40 minutes by car.

A complimentary starter pack is provided on arrival — a small selection of tea, coffee, milk, and bathroom essentials to get you settled comfortably from the moment you arrive. Supermarkets and convenience stores are nearby for any additional supplies you need during your stay.

Weekly and monthly discount rates are available and apply automatically to longer stays.

A private airport transfer can be arranged at additional cost — please get in touch at least 48 hours before your arrival and we will organise it for you.

To ensure a smooth arrival, we ask all guests to complete a short online pre-check-in form and upload a valid government-issued photo ID before arriving — this takes just a couple of minutes.

This is a non-smoking, no-vaping property throughout — including the balcony and all common areas. No parties or events.

Quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Check-in is from 3:00 PM and checkout is by 10:00 AM.

Princes Wharf occasionally hosts large cruise ships at the adjacent berth. When a vessel is in port, the wharf becomes busier than usual during the day. Arrivals and departures are publicly listed on the Port of Auckland schedule and we are happy to advise on upcoming visits if this is something you would like to plan around.

Air conditioning is available in the upper lounge area only. The three bedrooms on the lower level rely on natural ventilation.
Guests staying during Auckland`s warmer summer months (December to February) who are sensitive to heat should be aware of this before booking.

The two king beds can be separated into two single beds on advance request — please let us know at the time of booking if you would like any or all beds configured as twins, as this cannot be arranged on the day of arrival.
We kindly ask all guests to help us maintain the peaceful, high-standard environment of this home by following a few simple rules:

A valid photo ID, email address, and phone number are required prior to check-in.

Please respect our no-party policy and observe quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Smoking, vaping, or drug use is not permitted inside the suite or anywhere in the apartment, building, complex or balcony.

In the rare case of a noise complaint or evidence of smoking, an additional fee of up to NZD $500 may apply.

Check in available after 3pm through lock box key collection. Lock boxes are located a short distance away, full details will be sent prior to arrival. We advise collecting the keys on your way to the apartment, if coming to the city via taxi or UBER, ask the taxi to wait a second while you collect the key. The walk to the apartment from the lock box is not far, but no one wants to walk in the city with suitcases!

These measures ensure that every guest enjoys a serene, premium experience — thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
