Prep breakfast in a kitchen with monochromatic tiling. Dine on a romantic garden terrace and enjoy the scent of lemon trees while surveying sweeping views of the city. After a day of exploring, recline on the sofa below a warm, wood-paneled ceiling.
Our idyllic urban cottage combines a central location - just 450 m up the hill from Agios Ioannis Metro Station - with the feeling of a Greek island escape. Enjoy the quietness, a breathtaking panoramic view of the sea, and the entire historic center of Athens stretching out before you.
The house features a charming backyard with a vegetable garden, and you're welcome to pick and use our fresh, homegrown produce. Accommodating up to 4 guests, it's perfect for couples, friends, families, and business travelers and especially convenient if you're arriving by car, as street parking is easy to find nearby.
• • Bedrooms
There are 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom is on the ground level with a queen-size bed, tasteful furnishings, and a closet, everything you need for a proper, restful sleep.
The second bedroom is on the upper floor with a long single bed, ideal even for very tall guests. A portable A/C is provided during the hot months. Bed linen and towels are included. A 4th guest can sleep on the sofa bed in the living room.
• • Kitchen and Living room
As is tradition in Greek independent houses, the kitchen is the first room you enter. It's fully equipped with everything you need to prepare your own meals: fridge/freezer, electric cooker and oven, toaster, coffee machine, and kettle. You'll also find basics like olive oil, herbs and spices, salt, pepper, tea, coffee, and sugar.
A special touch: the olive oil comes from our family's own production, and the herbs are hand-picked from the family's fields.
And don't forget: depending on the season, you can step into the backyard and pick fresh tomatoes, lemons, apricots, grapes, and loquats to make your own salad, homemade lemonade, or fruit bowl. (Please note: produce is seasonal, so variety may be limited in winter.)
A washing machine is also available in the kitchen, free to use throughout your stay. Next to the kitchen is a dining table set by the windows, the perfect spot for a quiet, sun-filled breakfast.
Just a step away is the living room, with a large sofa (which converts to a double bed), a coffee table, and a large flat-screen TV. This room has A/C, though the house is well insulated and stays comfortable even on hot summer days.
From the living room, a hallway leads to the bathroom, the stairs to the 2nd bedroom, and out to the backyard garden.
• • Outdoors
At the front door, a balcony offers just enough space for a table and chairs, perfect for sipping your morning coffee while gazing out at the sea and the rooftops of Athens.
The main garden is behind the house, accessed via the stairs to the upper level. There you'll find seasonal fruits, herbs, and vegetables ready to be picked, along with a stone barbecue, outdoor furniture for dining and relaxing, and a private space to sunbathe. This kind of outdoor retreat is a rare luxury for a home with such easy access to central Athens.

In our urban cottage, you'll feel like you're in a traditional Greek village, with the convenience of being just 3 metro stops from the Acropolis and 4 from Syntagma Square.
And if the panoramic sea view from the kitchen or garden isn't enough, head out the back door to discover a hidden spot where you can sit among the fields and take in a magnificent panorama of Athens' three famous hills: the Acropolis, Filopappou, and Lycabettus.
Things to note:
The owner lives nearby and may occasionally enter the vegetable garden to tend to it, through a separate, independent entrance.
Please note that the house sits at the top of a small hill. If you're arriving on foot, there's a short uphill walk. Nothing too demanding, and the quietness and views more than make up for it.
Also be aware that reaching the house and moving between levels involves steps and stairs, which may be uncomfortable for guests with mobility difficulties.
