Pros:
Terry the receptionist couldn’t have been more helpful and gave us free coffee whilst we waited for our room to be ready. Then he wrote out an itinerary for the 2 days we were there which we followed.
The Location is great as The Acropolis is just a 10 mins walk, The Agora is 10 mins in the opposite direction and the markets of Monastiraki are about 10 mins walk too.
The Thissio Metro is 7 mins from the hotel so very good for travelling further afield.
Cons:
The hotel has not been maintained and the roof top restaurant is derelict and is dirty and used for storing old pieces of wood. What a waste of a rooftop with a view of the Acropolis. The photos on Expedia of the dining room is not what we saw and we had breakfast in the bar area.
Our room had patio doors to the balcony but one door had broken glass in it from top to bottom so we had to be careful opening and closing it in case it shattered.
The Fridge door was broken inside so we had to use the shelves instead and not the door.
The bathroom door was glass and had dropped from its hinges so it did not close.
We also noticed that the smoke alarms were taped up and there were no fire notices anywhere in the room or outside in the corridor just the lit up green light. This hotel is said to be a Non smoking hotel but obviously this proves it is not.
Expedia need to pay it another visit and reassess it as it’s no way a VIP Access hotel.
