For 10 subsequent years the property owner, Marianne, has been the physical host, welcoming all visitors, assisting to make their stay a warm, comfortable and memorable experience. A.U.R.A. (Acropolis Unique Residence Apartments) is a privately-owned apartment building which is composed of four large apartments for short term rentals including this one, the host’s reception office at the ground floor and a small private home on the top floors (former small rentals). Unlike most of the newest constructions in Athens, we have invested in renewable resources in the entire building; solar energy, geothermal energy, recently replaced by heat pumps. Our aim is to guarantee an absolute heating and cooling effect by environment friendly actions which offer full autonomy in every apartment, through an under-floor system (for long-term stays) and fan coils in every room for full autonomy per guest, plus hot running water at all hours, and the heating of the swimming pool during the winter season (exclusively for guests at the A.U.R.A. Three major advantages are offered here: Visitors’ comments for the spacious A.U.R.A. Elegant Apartment 3 focuses on: Quality accommodation, ideal location and a hospitable host/owner. What follows explains why. The A.U.R.A. Elegant Apartment, is situated at the 3rd floor, served by a large elevator. There are 5 comfortable bedrooms and next to each one of them 5 bathrooms from which one en suite, that include 3 bathtubs and 2 showers. All bedrooms are flexible as regards accommodation with king size or single beds. The kitchen area is convenient for home made preparations to enjoy a nice meal at the large dining table found at the sun bathing patio, overlooking the Acropolis on top of a beautiful tree-lined street. The patio’s large windows offer a nice view over the street’s life through the curtains which make up a beautiful theatrical scene as guests are gazing at the neighborhood’s residents passing by. The patio is particularly inviting to all guests as a relaxing lounge area with a comfy sofa and pouffes. All areas offer separate A/C and the apartment is quite spacious, extending to 180 sq.m. offering guests autonomy and privacy which are so valuable during traveling and sharing an apartment even among the closest group members. Location: The neighborhood is Thission, a residential area probably the best in Athens, the most appealing of all for visitors as much as for Athenians, in the heart of the historical centre. It combines the characteristics of the mid19th century through the neoclassical residencies which are being continuously preserved, with the proximity to the most important archaeological sites through lovely pedestrian streets and some of the most beautiful walks in any European capital, as well as several ultra-hip surrounding areas to eat, shop and walk around. A large choice of cafes, traditional taverns and restaurants as well as local shops offer visitors the option to spend time in the neighborhood if they please and acquire the inside knowledge of Athens! The apartment is a 10-15 minutes’ walk to the most important attractions but outside the touristy mass or city noise so even the owner is often still taken by surprise from the calm it offers. Specifically it's a 10 minutes’ walk from the Acropolis, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus participating in the Athens & Epidaurus Festival during the summer, 20 min walk from the Acropolis museum and Plaka, through lovely pedestrian streets. The Athens Riviera is also just 9.0 km away and the most attractive neighborhoods are all around the neighborhood of Thission. Hospitable host: As the owner and host, I personally welcome visitors to ensure each and every guest receives the tips which turn a visit into an experience and a plain check in, far beyond the provision of accurate information, into a hospitable welcome. If important commitments do not allow me to be physically present, a reliable assistant would be replacing me. During the stay guests are welcomed to drop in anytime in our office on the ground floor, during the hours the host or her assistant is in. Other things to note: • To further complement our guests’ comfort we have created a privately owned and secure storage facility just across our building’s entrance. No need to worry about early arrivals into Athens or late departures as it may be accessed by code. • Parking offered in the premises, free of charge upon request and based on availability. • Security doors and a security code for the main entrance offer peace of mind to guests who may feel insecure while traveling. • Quiet hours prevail in Greece by law are between 14:30-17:30 and 22:00-07:30 which all citizens need to respect. By booking this property guests are confirming that they are aware of the house rules and agree to respect them. • Guests should be informed that the initial rate is for up to 6 guests. For more than 6 guests: Automatic 50€ extra charge per guest per night. This policy was judged as being to the advantage of smaller and larger groups. Prospective guests are requested to include the final number of guests in their inquiry. New taxes were introduced in Greece recently, for all reservations made after 01.01.2024\. As a result the total booking price is affected. More specifically; • A 13% V.A.T. is added to the booking price. • A Transient Occupancy Tax (0.75%) is included in the booking price for all reservations made before September 25th, 2025. • A Climate Crisis Resilience Fee (0.50€ or 1.50€ / per night depending on the season), is required to be paid at the end of the stay. - As per January 1st, 2025 the Climate Crisis Resilience Fee is modified from 0.50€ to 2€ and from 1.50€ to 8€ and is included in the total booking price for all reservations made between December 1st, 2024 and September 25th, 2025. Also there is an amazing Crete restaurant, Kotsakia run by the owner Demetrius, and their food is the best in all of Greece. Each teenager had their own room and bathroom which was nice for them to have their own area. We had an excellent visit in our vrbo. The area is delightful and the manager, Marianne, was awesome from the beginning. She was very communicative and responsive to all our questions. She helped with car service to and from the rental. She was amazing. There was plenty of shopping and nice restaurants very close by. The rental was very clean and in a safe neighborhood. We arrived early and were able to stow our luggage in a storage locker that was locked and secure. We were able to walk a short distance to a restaurant that had a great view of the Acropolis but the view from the rental was not as expected most likely from tree growth. The street is quiet and car-free, so perfect for walking with toddlers, and there are plenty of cafes and tavernas close by. The apartment itself is spacious, immaculate and well appointed. Our hosts were right there to arrange transport for our multi-generation group of eight, provide crib and high chair and even re-arrange furniture to accommodate us. She was very responsive with all the questions we had before our arrival. She booked transfers both to and from the airport. The apartment itself was in a great location. Walking distance to everything we needed. The main areas of the apartment were comfortable and great places to relax and play some cards as the afternoons were very warm. Our only complaint was that we didn’t have access to the pool. I think that was our fault for not reading the property description well enough to realize that the pool was not available for the apartment we were staying in. This place was just what we were looking for. A five bedroom, five bathroom so everyone had their own space. The beds are comfortable, bathrooms clean and updated. It's also equipped with a kitchen and full size refrigerator as well as a small counter for coffee service. There is a washing machine but no dryer but clothes can be hung in the drying room. The street is not busy so noise is not a problem. Coffee shop, couple restaurants are right across the street and plenty are within a very short walk. The access to the building / apartment has wonderful security and the neighborhood feels very safe. The walk to the Acropolis/Parthenon is a short fifteen minutes and twenty minutes to the museum. From the airport, plan on 45 minute to 1 hour but it's all based around the time of day. If arriving early before check in, there is a storage location for luggage right near the apartment. You can drop your bags and do some shopping or have lunch in the meantime.Marianne, the property manager will take good care of you with any questions. She is very responsive and explains clearly about the property and anything that has to do with Athens. She is a great resource to plan your day. This apartment is in a building with other apartments, so if this one is not exactly what you are looking for be sure to ask Marianne about the others available. ##### Frank K.
