"Comfortable room, friendly staff. Had pleasant meal one night, and enjoyed cooked breakfast. Spent few hours in pub lounge, great atmosphere. Small point, we were in room 9 which was noisy at night due to extractor fan out
side. Other than that we enjoyed our stay."

"The blind bull is a little slice of luxury set in an idyllic location and providing top flight services. The food is amazing. The staff are very kind and helpful and accommodations wonderfully sumptuous. Highly recommend it and we will definitely be back."

"Welcoming owners Helen and Andy provide a warm, comfortable and luxurious B&B in the heart of lovely Eccleshall. Helen's artsy skill are shared in abundance, with every little detail attended to. Our room overlooked the beautiful garden at the back of the property, adjacent to private car parking, and a gentle stroll down to the town. We plan to stay again, truly a delightful experience."

"This is a lovely rustic inn and pub in a historical location. Located on the outskirts of Nottingham and an easy on off of the highway prior to our flight home. We stayed 2 nights after exploring northern England. The beds are clean and comfortable, the food is delicious and the drinks are cold. Lots of local conversation with friendly people"

"We only ended up staying for one night of the two we booked. This was due to work commitments not the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very tasty.
Before we left we had a meal in the restaurant. The food was some of the best we’ve had in a while.
We would definitely stay there again."

"Not easy to find, since no street-number supplied until asked for. Expected en-suite - bathroom shared (between 2 rooms) and quite a distance from the bedroom. Access arrangements (and supervision) sketchy - via key-safe on telephoning (never-seen) owner. However, the bed was very comfortable and the location quiet."

"The only good thing about the property was the location. The room was clean, but very uncomfortable with low beds, no remote for the TV , a broken chair, and the slow stream of shower water was far too hot. There were none of the luxuries advertised, nor was the basement set up to eat/drink as advertised. Common areas were not clean or well maintained. The owners are clearly trying to sell the property."

The cobblestone market square hosts Ashbourne's famous Shrovetide Football game, where locals compete in a centuries-old tradition each February. Dovedale's limestone ravines in the nearby Peak District offer scenic hiking trails and the iconic stepping stones across the River Dove.
We wanted to visit the local National Trust properties, which were all very worth visiting. The scenery was lovely (Peak District), and the pub we ate at was also very good - a recommendation of the hotel staff. We only stayed for three nights this time, but will be coming back for another visit sooner rather than later, and would hope to stay again at Newton House. The bar and lounges were nicely furnished and decorated, and the staff were all friendly and helpful.

Home cooked hot breakfast was delicious. Great service absolutely faultless & purely perfect in every way. Staff could not go out of their way anymore to make my stay any more perfect, was an absolute pleasurable stay & I will definitely consider staying here again in the near future. The only criticism I can think of is walls are quite thin in the single bedrooms & because of this you can hear your neighbours every move & the bed was very squeaky & creaky, but nonetheless was extremely...

We booked this hotel due to its location to Donington Circuit. The location was perfect, the circuit being about 10 minutes drive away (maximum).
The owners were lovely and very friendly, Beverley helped us find somewhere to eat on a Sunday when everywhere else was closed or had finished serving.
Although the hotel is on the main road, the small town of Melbourne is quiet and the road isn't busy - even on a bank holiday weekend. There are a number of places to eat nearby including a lovely...

Lovely room, perfect for relaxing after a day out walking. Chosen because it was dog friendly and it did not disappoint - good for walking into town and loved that there was a map showing us how to get there by avoiding the main road. Breakfasts were delicious! Thank you for our stay.

Staff were extremely friendly, and my dinner the evening I arrived was delicious. I don't eat breakfast but the coffee was good. The setting of this place is just beautiful, I was sad to only be staying the one night.

Had a lovely nights stay - very comfortable bed, lovely size room with everything we could want. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, fresh fruits and lots of biscuit in the room which was extremely clean.
Had a great welcoming from the owners on arrival with freshly baked flap jacks and lots of local knowledge shared.
A book regarding the building was also an interesting read.
We had breakfast (optional) which consisted of lots cold options, fresh fruits, juices cereals etc. Then a full range for any...

This is the quintessential English vicarage and the perfect B&B. If you want to stay in a warm, welcoming and beautiful location, then look no further. The room was immaculate and breakfast perfect. Tricia and Andrew are excellent hosts and we could have happily spent hours chatting. They offered good advice on where to eat and where to go. If we return to the Peak District we won’t give a second thought to booking again.

Stayed here for one night in Room 5 (I think)
As I was driving back from a festival in Dorset, I kept in touch with the hotel staff about my arrival and all was fine when I arrived about 7pm. There’s no private parking. Street parking only, but at least it was right in front of the house and free. The owner showed me around the B&B, the bedroom and the separate shared bathroom. The guest house has a cosy homely feel, is clean and comfortable throughout. I had also asked for breakfast, so the...

What is the nightly rate for a Bed and Breakfast in Ashbourne?
Prices for B&Bs in Ashbourne often vary, but you can find a great deal from £51 with Expedia. All sorts of factors affect price, such as location and the time of year. It usually costs more to stay at Ashbourne B&Bs over the weekend too. Travelers can find the best deals by being flexible with their dates, and by using our filters to sort prices from low to high.
When is the best time to book a Bed & Breakfast in Ashbourne?
The best time to book a B&B in Ashbourne is during the late spring and early summer months, particularly in May and June. This period is popular among travellers seeking to enjoy the picturesque landscapes of the Peak District when the weather starts to warm up and the flora is in full bloom. With average temperatures ranging from 12 to 18 degrees Celsius, it’s an ideal time for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and exploring the charming local villages.
As the summer months roll in, from July to September, Ashbourne welcomes an influx of visitors drawn by the vibrant atmosphere and a variety of local events. In July, the town buzzes with activity, making it a prime time for socialising and enjoying the lively markets and festivals. Visitors can take advantage of the long daylight hours to explore the renowned Dovedale and other nearby natural attractions.
For those looking to enjoy the beauty of Ashbourne while saving a bit on accommodation and activities, consider planning your visit in the quieter month of October. During this time, the autumn foliage transforms the landscape into a stunning display of colours, great for scenic walks and photography. Additionally, with fewer tourists around, you can enjoy a more relaxed experience while still indulging in the local delights that Ashbourne has to offer.
What is the difference between a Ashbourne B&B and a hotel?
Every Ashbourne B&B has its own unique feel. Whether it’s a cozy reading space or a sunlit breakfast nook to enjoy your morning cup of coffee, the quaint details are what make bed and breakfasts a home away from home. Travelers can look forward to personal touches, thoughtful amenities and of course a scrumptious breakfast at Ashbourne B&Bs.
