"I booked this stay last minute and immediately tried to cancel it but Bergen Guesthouse does not accept cancellations. The property is close to the city center, inexpensive and newly - in progress - renovated. However, the walls are paper thin, the rooms lack comfort (our window didn’t close properly, only a ceiling light, no bedside lights, the power outlets didn’t work properly, no TV, no mirror). One full bath and one out of order bathroom to share between 4 rooms on the level we stayed....

"The breakfast here at Zander K is absolutely phenomenal and the staff are couteous. We requested an upgrade to a larger room and they gave us a suite which was great as we were staying three nights and we really needed the additional space. Everything went well and I recommend this hotel. It is a 10-15 minutes to walk to all the major sites and is very quiet!"

The staff trashes our plastic bags, water bottle and food that was set aside for the evening. "The breakfast was delicious. It offered something for everybody. I enjoyed their small sausage bites, melons, green salad and liver wurst. There too many dishes to list, as they catered to many nationalities. French, German, American, Asian, Norwegian (great salmon) in a large but intimate dining room with great views. The bed was comfy and easy to sleep in. My husband enjoyed breakfast so much, we will be eating dinner here. The hotel offers a large area on ground floor to entertain kids if all ages. It's amazingly comfortable. Feels very safe and clean ."

"This is a nice hotel located on the water and only a block from the main cruise ship terminal. It's you're catching a cruise, this is probably one of the closest hotels available. The room was nice, bed very comfortable. The water pressure in the shower is outstanding (no water trickle that is often encountered in many European hotels). The breakfast buffet is good with a range of options. They also include dinner which is basic but satisfying."
