Come and enjoy our back to nature cottage, on a stunning 100 acres of hardwood Maple bush. It has the best of both worlds- lovely knotty pine interior 3 bedroom 'east coast style' home with scenic walking trails. A complete escape! *Newly added 4 person wood burning cedar sauna*

If you are looking to get away for a couple of nights and just shut off and relax, this is the place for you and your family. Newly added high speed internet allows you to to stay connected. Or, just disconnect and enjoy the quite and nature, this creates the perfect atmosphere to read, go for a hike, play a board game, roast marshmallows, watch a movie, go for a swim or just take a nap in the hammock! Also enjoy the newly added cedar 4 person sauna to complete the relaxation.

Space:
764 sq foot home features include: high ceilings, 3-piece bath, south facing veranda, angel stone backing for airtight wood-stove, drilled well, gas kitchen stove with double oven, fridge, microwave. Our 3 bedroom home is suitable for 6 people.
The outdoors person in you will enjoy the trails on this mature forested property (never logged). Escape the city and enjoy your privacy here. Year round maintained road.

Other things to note:
There is an electric glass top stove, fridge with freezer, bar fridge, microwave, and coffee maker to use. Kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of dishes, cups, mugs, cutlery and pots and pans. Guests may use the coffee, tea, sugar, creamer. Tea towels and dish cloth will also be provided.
If you don't want to wash the dishes, please bring disposable dishes. Our Well water is tested and is good for cooking and drinking. There is a fire pit that can be used for campfires or outdoor cooking. There is also a BBQ for cooking outdoors. Please be sure to extinguish all fires after use. Firewood burned in the wood stove is the main heat source in the cottage.
Firewood is available on site for the wood stove and camp fires at no extra cost.
Backup generator is available in case of power outages.

Peaceful and private

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! It was so private and peaceful. Other than the sound of the odd snowmobile in the distance, we didn’t hear as much as a hint of civilization. The cottage was bright and clean. We loved the wood stove and the outside wood fired sauna. We even managed to dig out the outdoor fire pit for a winter campfire. Lovely private trails as well. Check in was simple and Adam was very quick to respond to our inquiries. Case and point, we had an issue with the kitchen faucet and he was quick to come out and fix it. We highly recommend and hope to come back again sometime. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Burk's Falls Cottage

Loved our stay. The cottage was lovey and had everything we needed. Everything was easy. The sauna was so nice, we loved the trails, and spent lots of time playing in the river. Thank you Adam!

Private Getaway

We had a family wedding to attend and this cottage was a perfect short distance to the venue. When we weren't attending family events it gave us the perfect spot for our immediate family to spend time together and relax. All of our needs were taken care of by our hosts and we enjoyed the privacy of the location. We especially enjoyed relaxing with our morning coffee on the front porch!

It's a lovely property, a bit set back from the road. There are nice trails on the property that you can take for walks. The owner's really nice too.

We had an awesome week at the cottage! Very clean, and the owner was quick to respond to messages. The kids had a great time on the trails and out to the river. The dogs loved the space to run around in. Would definitely book again!

Winter escape from the city

Very comfortable, clean, amazing property. Great cross country skiing. We had a blast of nasty weather and the power went out, Adam had the generator up and going quickly. Overall a great getaway from city life. And the stars at night were spectacular. Thanks for everything, look forward to another stay in the fall. Sara, Craig and Sam the dog.

Private and quiet

A very nice property, peaceful and secluded. All the necessary services provided. Adam, the property manager, was great to communicate with and responded quickly to all my questions. Very pet friendly with lots of land/trails for our dog to explore. Would definitely stay there again, if in the area.

This is an amazing cottage

First impressions: the long driveway in to the cottage provides for a very private location, but within a vast clearing. Cottage was super clean and the kitchen was well stocked with supplies. I brought my mountain bike with me and was thrilled to ride on the gravel roads (I wasn’t able to ride the walking trails as they were way too muddy at this time of year). Adam was very pleasant to work with and provided timely responses to any emails or texts. Will definitely stay at this cottage again.

Perfect Stay

This was the perfect location for a low key girls weekend. We had such a relaxing weekend and loved being able to have fires (with wood provided) and being able to relax inside and watch movies. Adam was great at communicating and made sure that we had everything that we needed. Well worth the amount we paid and we couldn’t recommend it more!

Family weekend

Nice 3 bedrooms cottage with front porch, , BBQ at the back , outside fire pit, nice sauna , tire swing, hiking trail, 5 min car to a nice sand beach with playground , free wood for fire pit…. Nice big shower in the bathroom and air conditioning unit in the central space. Adam respond fast to our inquiries.

Winter Wonderland

“Magical” is the first word that comes to mind when I think of our stay at Adam’s cottage. Everything about the property and host were beyond our expectations. The cottage is clean, very well equipped with amenities, and has all of the comforts of home including comfortable beds with cozy bed linen, fluffy towels, great water pressure with lots of hot water, games/movies, and plenty of dishes/bakeware/cookware/coffee and hot drink options. Also, the Starlink wifi was perfect. The care and thoughtfulness you give to your guests’ experiences are evident in the little touches found throughout the property such as the “Things to Do” pages in your info binder with hand drawn maps and personal recommendations/tips/experiences. Or the helpful labels throughout the cottage indicating where to find extra towels or light switches. And those were just a sample of the little touches. The not-so-little touches include checking in to ensure we have everything we need, grooming the trails just for us, clearing the driveway and shovelling the porch/steps right away after a big snowfall. We are so appreciative of the effort and love you give to this special place. We can’t wait to return. Thank you so much.

Best cottage rental experience to date!

What a great trip we had and most of it had to do with the property and the hosts, they were top notch and replied to any questions in just a couple min., perfect. Cottage was spotless which is not always the case with a rental, and semi-off the grid which we enjoyed the most. We were able to get phone/text signal but internet was unreliable and to me that was fantastic and the best part of the trip! I have not been unplugged for a long time, felt great, one of the reasons I would go back. Trail system was beautiful and we made the hike back to the river each day. There is a little loop that maybe takes 10min right next to the cottage, then the bigger trail going to the river that takes about 25min, and there is nobody for a few miles, amazing solitude. Main trial is about 12' wide and flat so almost anyone could manage it. Cottage runs on a small quiet Honda generator, and then a bigger one for replenishing the water tank, if you're having a shower, I would suggest running the big one so you don't have to worry about running out of water mid lather. It's an easy process to switch back and forth between them. My only suggestion would be to bring a pair of gloves to pour the gas, totally my fault but I tilted the gas can too fast with the vent open and doused my hand in gas, I should have known better but oh well. Small generator will run all night into the morning if you top it up before going to bed, about 9-10hrs I found. Generator shed is right close and you can't hear the generator. I brought a bunch of supplies not knowing exactly what the cottage had but did not need to at all, everything is supplied, towles, sheets pillows & cases, pillows and throws on the couch, fully appointed kitchen, nice gas stove, paper towel, toilet paper and drinking water, I never used anything I brought. There is a bar size fridge but no freezer just fyi, not a big deal if you go in the winter. Heated by a nice wood stove and the wood shed is only about 50' away with a wheelbarrow. They also have a bbq which I did not use. 2 seperate bedrooms and a third with bunk beds. I could definitely go on and on and use up all of the space allowed by vrbo but hopefully you get the idea, great cottage, will be going back for sure, hopefully this helps future renters.

A week in the fall to recharge

Distant enough for quiet nights and trail walks during the day. Close enough to go to town for coffee, groceries or cell service. Comfortable furnishings and a well appointed kitchen. Excellent communication with the owner, even though there were no problems whatsoever.

Family weekend

Adam is an awesome host and his property is near a nice Sandy beach (5 min. In car) at the Puckerel Lake! We enjoy our time at the property by the fire pit a lot where the wood was included and the hamac was also fun to relax in. Inside was very clean and everything was there for our holiday! Thanks Adam! We are coming back next year!

Disconnect from the world

So peaceful and quiet! The trails are amazing. Close to so many parks and sites! The owner was amazing. If you are looking to disconnect from everything this is the place. Thank you Adam! We had an amazing time. Sad to leave.
