"I really used to like this hotel as its in a beautiful location. Bar opened 5pm my husband got me a drink and manager or owner (he turned up about 16.50 ) said by the time we had the drink our alternative room would be ready. "Undoubtedly the most magical place we’ve ever stayed, words and pictures just can’t do The Little Cottage in the Woods justice. Every corner of the cottage and gardens reveal more delightful touches! We were sorry to have to leave so soon and wish we could have stayed longer. Even gypsy, the resident German Shepherd, provided a warm welcome to both the kids and dogs! Lynne and Jeff were the perfect hosts - friendly and helpful without being imposing. Knipoch House Hotel by Oban

8/10 Good

"Food was lovely a bit pricey but staff very pleasant and helpful . Parking just outside our bedroom beds comfy only stayed one night as travelling onwards ."

Oyster Inn

10/10 Excellent

"A beautifully situated hotel right on the front overlooking the Connel Bridge and adjacent to a wonderful pub with great food! Our rooms were all clean and comfortable and I must thank the receptionist who very kindly upgraded my elderly mum and put her into a ground floor room overlooking the water for no extra cost, really appreciated this lovely gesture! We will definitely be back!"

Oban Bay Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"This was in walking distance to the waterfront which had all the shops, cafes and restaurants that we needed. It was also close for the ferry to Mull. The hotel did not have a buffet but you ordered from the menu and everything was brought to your table so everything was piping hot. They also had a good breakfast selection to choose from. We were very pleased with the standard of cleanliness of the room. Nice big shower as well. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

Perle Oban Hotel & Spa

10/10 Excellent

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Perle Oban Hotel & Spa! The location is perfect, right in the heart of town and within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops, and pubs. We especially loved watching the fishing boats and ferries coming and going in the harbor. Our room was very comfortable, and the hotel was a wonderful home base for exploring Oban. We would happily stay here again!"

Loch Fyne Hotel And Spa

10/10 Excellent

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and so did our dog who was also spoiled by all the staff. We booked the outdoor thermal spa and enjoyed an hour of the sole use of the sauna and hot tub which was a lovely treat and especially nice as it got dark and was a clear night. All the meals were delicious and it was nice to sit and relax in the bar area looking out on the beautiful view of Loch Fyne."

The Whisky Vaults

10/10 Excellent

"An excellent 'bar pension', centrally located easy walking distance from the rail station and ferry terminal. The rooms are very stylishly decorated but compact, so good for a short stay. The ensuite was cleverly designed to fit hand basin, shower and toilet into a small space. Bed comfortable and nice towels and herbal hand / shower wash. TV working with UK free to air channels. Good Wi-fi and tea kettle and china mugs. Good food in the whisky bar and live music too on the night I was there, though I'd suggest they switch off some of the harsh halogen lights to create a cosier ambience and encourage you to linger longer! The room window was also locked and I suggest the owner unlocks them so that guests can ventilate with the fresh West Highland air if they wish... No socket in ensuite. Officially nowhere to store luggage after the early checkout time but staff let me leave a suitcase in the bar and keep the outside key until midday, which was welcome. Recommended"
