Wonderful!
I absolutely LOVED my stay! The hotel service was awesome. I had an issue with my booking and they went above and beyond to resolve it. The room was really lovely. The only downside was that the water had a bad smell and the AC unit made a loud intermittent buzz that was a bit hard to sleep through...but it is a medieval village after all, so there's that to take into consideration. Apricale (the village) is just incredible! I've been traveling for a month now, and been to five other countries, and this was one of my favorite sopts of the whole trip so far!

It was fine but a little disappointing. The bathroom needed an upgrade. Also, be aware that you will need to carry your suitcase for about 200 meters on cobblestone. The village itself was really beautiful.

Humid and no windows
The rooms are very high in humidity. Some rooms are without any window, while others have tiny windows. On the photo is very nice window look, but we didn`t had it. Quite shocked.

Pleasant but not what we were expecting.
We were expecting a nice little Italian hotel, but rather this is a collection of rooms scattered around the town. The check-in process was poor, as we couldn't find the reception and there are signs for the various rooms scattered around town. Breakfast was not very good and our shower was broken. The room itself was pleasant and located near the centre of the town. We tried to book two activities, which were suggested to us on a list provided by the hotel, but neither were available. I'd say the room was poor value for money.

Visit Apricale!
Apricale is an amazing village, but due to the extremely steep and rocky streets, we do not recommend it for anyone with mobility issues. The Albergo Diffuso is a relatively new concept that allows small villages to provide hotel space in multiple locations scattered throughout the village without having a large central hotel. The buildings containing hotel rooms were clean and in excellent condition; the rooms were clean, nicely furnished, and surprisingly well appointed. We highly recommend a visit to Apricale. Be sure to eat at one of the local restaurants. We tried two of them and found the food and service to be superb.

Fantastic hotel in medieval city
This was absolutely great experience. But please, remember that you will need to have very lang walk with all your luggage from Hotel reception to your room. - aprox. 10-15 mins to hill through medieval city, but after this you will surprised by room and absolutely fantastic homemade breakfast.

Something very different
The Albergo Diffuso is a delightful idea - from a central and accessible reception the staff whisk you to your room or apartment in the heart of this historic mountain village. Breakfast is provided in a lovely facility which is very convenient to our apartment. You get a real taste of living in this delightful town. The staff are so welcoming and helpful - you won't want to leave.

Picturesque stay in Apricale
We booked this place for the Formula 1 race in Monte Carlo, based on its reviews. Reaching it by car was a real challenge, as both GPS devices we had took us along a very narrow, poorly maintained and poorly marked road from San Remo over the mountain, to Apricale. The road to take is from Ventimiglia, which is much better. The room was comfortable and people very friendly. Getting the baggage to and from the room entailed a 10 minute pull up/down steep streets, so the recommendation is to use light backpacks and leave the heavy bags in the car.

Great Romantic Getaway - Excellent Views and Room
Absolutely amazing rooms and views. Lovely Medieval village to explore, friendly locals and great restaurants. We took our 78 year old mum with us and was a bit of a challenge for mum walking around because of the steps to navigate. If you are of average fitness for your age, it is just good exercise though. We would visit this place again. Breakfast room is not that easy to find and a more detailed map showing the location of it would help. Margaret and I loved our room - clean - comfortable bed and great shower area. Spectacular view from balcony. Communal area withLounge area - Fridge and Tea making facility is fantastic

Thought it would be the highlight of our vacation
We were so excited to stay there, the pictures made it seem so friendly and quaint. It actually ended up being a very rough time. We drove in and the road the GPS gave us was very dangerous. When we got to the village it was utter chaos with everyone yelling at each other to move their cars because the 2 way road only handles one car in either direction. Then a hotel baggage handler comes up in a golf cart. I thought he might offer some relief, but he was also yelling at us to move our car. I ended up backing up into a trailer left on the side of the road from all the confusion. Lucky my rental car had all insurance. The room was pretty but impractical - it also smelled very funny and the smell that stayed in my lungs for days after. The people in the village were not very friendly or helpful except Ildo and Aldo at a restaurant on the main road. I will never go back to this hotel - it is all marketing and no real substance.

Great service
Service was great. Bags were taken from reception through the town to our room (which was a long way and uphill!) and we were given a small tour of the town as we were shown to the room which identified some good restaurants and places to visit. Well worth it.

Interesting concept which worked well
Staff were all excellent and helpful, speaking to all clients at breakfast and looking after them. Room clean and well kept. Breakfast, possibly all home made, was also excellent. It was a delightful experience though the location would not lend itself to persons with mobility problems.

Beautiful remote location
Arrived at 7.30pm - way to late to enjoy this beautiful remote hotel. Suggest you arrive by 3pm so you can discover the lovely town it is built around. Greeted by the entire family it seemed - made to feel very welcome with a bottle of bubbly, local chocolates and hand made cakes in our room - wonderful gesture and a complete surprise. Lots of local restaurants within walking distance. Would recommend you hire a car to get here. We didn't and had problems getting a taxi back to the station the next day. Room was great but in hindsight I would request a room with a bath tub next time. Very very good value for money both in the hotel and the local shops and eatery's. Only small issue we had was a wait to get our bags when we checked out - suggest you pre arrange checkout the night before to avoid and mis-communication. Highly recommended lovely people and beautiful hotel and location. Amazing and romantic.

Nice
We stayed a couple nights, our room was nice and clean. We went with our infant son and they where helpful and very accommodating. The hotel rooms are spread all over town so expect a hike in a beautiful town. Breakfast was very well organize with fresh pastries and local produce. Down side internet did not work.

overpriced for what it offers
In fact this is not exactly a hotel but rooms in houses spread around the village. We had an unpleasant surprise upon arrival because the door of the reception was locked and there was a sign only in Italian. We tried calling the 3 numbers that were written but nobody picked-up. It turned out that the reception is only open after 3 o'clock but this was not mentioned anywhere. The staff is very polite and helpful but far from multilingual. The room was terribly cold but luckily we were given a heater. Very limited choice of TV chanels and a nasty smell in the wardrobe. Apart from that the room was clean and furnished in a nice rustic style. Despite the inconveniences we enjoyed our stay - the village has a very nice atmosphere and beautiful surroundings.

A Mixed Experience in Apricale
We stayed for 2 nights with 3 people at this hotel. The breakfast was meager, and we were disappointed by the lack of variety. Getting to our room was quite a challenge, as the paved paths and narrow, steep streets of the old town made it very confusing to navigate. Sadly, the reception didn't offer much help either, providing only a confusing treasure map for guidance. The shower didn't work as intended, and the room's ceiling height was only about 160cm, making it uncomfortably warm inside. The kitchen had plates and glasses, but surprisingly, no pots or pans were provided. On a positive note, the view from the room was fantastic, and the ambiance at the old town square was enjoyable. We discovered that parking was nearly impossible, as we had to park about 1 km away along the mountain road from the hotel. However, the most distressing part of our stay was the shocking revelation upon departure that there was a hidden surveillance camera in the room, pointed at the bed, and it was turned on throughout our entire stay. This invasion of privacy is completely unacceptable and leaves us feeling violated. Apricale is a unique experience that we've had, but it's not a place we would want to visit again. The beauty of the surroundings and the pleasant atmosphere at the old town square were overshadowed by the discomforts, lack of amenities, and most importantly, the breach of privacy. For these reasons, we cannot recommend this hotel for future travelers.

Apricale is a relatively small totally pedestrian medieval village and does not reach the kilometer in its entirety, the fact that it is only pedestrian and the Hotel scattered throughout the village is our pride and our uniqueness. The map defined as poor by the customer also includes a QRcode that allows you to activate a video that accompanies the customer to the room with musical accompaniment. The breakfast includes ONLY local products, homemade cakes, croissants, jams, bread, ham, cheese, buffet yoghurt and unlimited consumption. As far as the camera is concerned, the customer is probably confused with the TVSat decoder next to the television. There are no cameras in the rooms and it's a bit ridiculous that the guest would think such a thing. I must say that unfortunately, given the public statement, we will be forced to report this defamatory comment to the competent authorities.
