My husband and I chose this area because we love to kayak fish. We were in close proximity to St. George Island where we put in at tbe state park on the. Ay side. Fabulous fishing from this area. Caught several reds, trout, and even 2 sharks. When we returned in the evening, we were skeptical to fish off the house boat in the river due to other reviews of just cat fish. We actually caught reds from the house boat which we were happy about. Large fish kept surfacing in the evening. I joked with my husband stating that i think i keep seeing the lauchness monster. They turned out to be gars. Very large. We caught 2 but ended up losing them before ee could bring them in. What an adrenaline rush. Overall great stay. I would recommend a new set of pans for the house boat, and cleaning out the air conditioner...but other than that...very enjoyable stay!!!! ##### Julia C. The houseboat was very well stocked, sparkling clean and an overall lovely experience. The views in all directions were great. We could walk to town to a number of great restaurants. Our favorite oyster place turned out to be right next door. Don't miss it.
