Located on the southern edge of the North Wessex Downs, it sits in a superb area for walking and cycling in the peaceful countryside, discovering an ancient landscape that sweeps from chalk downs to sheltered river valleys and secluded woodland, you can even walk the Test Way. Head into the picturesque market town of Andover, just 4.5 miles away, and wander its narrow streets that date back to Saxon times. You’ll find a variety of shops, pubs and places to eat, as well as two poetry trails to follow and a museum that outlines the rich history of the area. For a fabulous day out, see the flying displays at The Hawk Conservancy Trust (8.5 miles), visit Highclere Castle (9 miles) tour the Black Chalk vineyard (8.5 miles) or even drive a race car at the Thruxton Circuit (11.5 miles).


    Set over two storeys, the cottage has been thoughtfully arranged for comfort and relaxation. Step into the delightful lounge, with its wood floor, sash window and vaulted ceiling. Here you’ll find a choice of seating, arranged around a cosy wood burner and with a Smart TV to add entertainment if you need it. Softly toned colours and ambient lighting make this a wonderfully calm space in which to unwind. Head through to the kitchen/diner, which boasts a deep ceramic sink and – as well as all the appliances you’ll need to whip up delicious meals – that all-important coffee machine. At one end is a dining table where you can gather for hearty breakfasts or slow suppers. The two double bedrooms are upstairs, tucked under the eaves. They have high, vaulted ceilings and some low areas, which add to the character of the property. The elegant bathroom, also on this level, has handsome fittings, which include a bath and a separate shower.


    For fresh air and sunshine, whether enjoying a morning coffee or supper under the stars, the courtyard garden offers a private outside space, and you’ll also have parking for two cars.
