Great location, great property to celebrate a couple family birthdays for my husband and I and our children. The host was very accomodating with excellent communication throughout the whole process. The property was older but very comfortable. Having a dock for our boat was perfect! Overall a wonderful stay for all of us!
The property was very nice and had a wonderful view of the lake. Very peaceful. Micki was so wonderful to meet me at the property and show me around. She also gave me some fun history of the home.
Martha was also wonderful to reach out amd make sure I had all the information I needed and left a nice bottle of champagne for us. She went out of her way to make us feel right at home.
Would definitely choose this place again.
Overall the house was nice, a few issues we experienced were the guest bathroom door handle wouldn’t unlock once locked so you had to keep turning it to even get out. The 2nd living room has a horrendous odor that we could not get rid of and made it difficult for anyone to stay down there. The only tv in the house was located down there as well. The dock was decent but our boat got beat up pretty badly with the waves and 4 of us fell down the steps getting down to the dock in the rain, may not have been an issue without the mud/rain but there is one step that tilts down that should be fixed as that’s the exact spot we fell. Beds were very comfortable and there were lots of extra touches that were much appreciated. Nobody can control the weather and unfortunately it wasn’t the lake getaway we were hoping for. The owner was nice and even checked on us to make sure we found the boat launch okay. Norris lake is beautiful either way. Thank you for letting us stay!
Last Resort provided a much needed family vacation for my family. The accommodations were great. Updated bedrooms and bathrooms, wonderful lake views, convenient and spacious dock for our boat. Also loved how the house nestled in the wooded hillside. There were a few slight (not major) disappointments. The lower level extra living space with full bath was only accessible to the main level by an outdoor stairway. Also, although the wrap around porch was wonderful, I think we would have used it more if the furniture was updated and deck had some attention. But overall, I’d recommend Last Resort. It’s a wooded lakefront getaway and family friendly.
We absolutely loved our stay in this wonderful home. It was truly a "home", not a house. The house was full of character and family history and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring all the nooks and crannies and discovering the history of this place. Plus, the thoughtfulness of the hostess was very touching. If you want something different, but still with all the amenities, and a million dollar view from the dock, this is the place for you. We've stayed in many homes around the lake, and this one is by far our favorite.
relaxing and peaceful, quite location for a getaway
rustic, lovely home hidden away in the woods on the lake; clean rooms and bathrooms with comfortable beds; simply and beautifully decorated with familial touches
very pleasant and peaceful stay
We love Martha and her house.
We have used the house for multiple stays with different people. Everyone loved the house and the beds are so comfy. Can't wait to be back next summer.
Loved the property. Only issue was dock access. If you are older or not as physically fit, it is quite a step from the stairway down to the dock. Loved the location from a boating perspective, but it is on a channel that does get boat traffic that can rock the deck. We would stay here again!
The "Last Resort" on Norris Lake is a great place to stay if you're interested in a relaxing, comfortable, and convenient stay on the beautiful lake. The host was great, made check-in easy, and made us feel at home. The property is convenient to the lake with a private dock that makes all your activities easy-to-access. Overall I'd definitely recommend the property to anyone looking for a relaxing lake vacation or trip.
We had such a wonderful experience, the character and charm of this property can’t be beat. The views were amazing….. feels like waking up in a tree house over the lake! Loved everything!
