We walked around a bit, never did I expect somewhere in Alaska is unsafe except for bear sightings. But I did see something unpleasant on street close to the apartment. Since then we didn't go out for food, only ordered take out. Luckily it was for a short stay. If you have a car, it's probably ok though. Don't walk around alone. Also, the communication is really off.
