About this property

Alyeska Hideaway Log Cabins - Glacier Cabin

  • Glacier Cabin was renovated and opened in 2017. Keeping with the charm of a one room cabin we have a queen bed on the main floor along with a sitting area.  The loft also has a queen bed. To access the loft you must climb a ladder so it is ideal for a family with kids or the nimble!
    To add to the charm of days-gone-by the bathroom features a claw-foot bathtub and picture window with views of the forest behind the cabin, ideal soaking after a long hike or ski.
    When you arrive you’ll find one of my homemade blueberry breakfast cakes on the dining table and a binder chaulk full of activities to do in the area, hikes with descriptions and distance, and all our favorite restaurants with full menus provided. Not to mention the plethora of discounts available through staying at Alyeska Hideaway Log Cabins. To add to that cozy charm we have added personal touches from our own Alaska adventures in the cabin with family photos of fishing, skiing, and hiking.
    Glacier Cabin is fully furnished for all your needs and we live next door to our cabins and are here to welcome you and help you plan your adventures.

This was a great cabin! Having the loft for extra sleeping was wonderful so my son and I didn’t need to share a bed. The bathroom was lovely and you better believe I took advantage of that large bathtub! The cabin is really spacious for what you get. And it’s right off the main road in Girdwood so would recommend it to anyone staying in the area.

Perfect summer hidaway

This is a great little property location and a great little house tucked away in the woods. It’s walking distance to downtown. The inside was roomy and very well stocked. We had a great time.

Blueberry festival

We enjoyed our stay so much wish we could have stayed longer! It was a rainy blueberry festival but the wood stove warmed us up and the beds were so comfortable. The rain on the tin roof put us right to sleep.played some cards and just enjoyed being unplugged!!

Beautiful cabin

The cabin was beautiful. It was inviting with its claw-foot tub for soaking after a long day of driving. Everything we needed was available and there was a great selection of tea. Coffee was available for my friend... who drinks café! Easy access to the cabin and to Alyeska.Thanks Lynn!

Very Good Hosts!

Cute clean cabin. The hosts are very responsive and available. I would not hesitate to recommend booking this cabin. I’ll simply mention that the cabin is not a secluded as thought. Other cabins and the hosts’ house are around at this dead end road.

The best out of a bad situation

Cozy little place with character. Lost power our first morning and our hosts were easy to contact and very accommodating. We were offered a different cabin, use of a generator, but chose candles offered by our hosts and used The little wood stove for heat and making coffee. We would definitely stay there again.

Nice kitchen and bed. Did not like the shower and bathroom sink! Very old style shower which was difficult to use and the sink had very little space to lay morning items out to prepare for the day. Location was charming!

Our visit to this cozy was a peaceful experience. We stayed in the Glacier Cabin and it was clean and had everything we needed. I wanted a rustic cabin and this is exactly what I got. It was cozy and comfortable. I loved the blackout shades as a few nights we found ourselves up late because of it not getting somewhat dark till around 3am. One night we sat out behind the cabin and had a nice campfire. Patrick was friendly and never bothered us, the area was extremely quiet…which is probably why we got such good nights sleep ;). Patrick recommended a few local spots to eat at Girdwood. The pizza place and ice cream shop didn’t disappoint. And the cute little gift shop has some great gift items. Would we stay here again, most definitely and hope to bring our family next time. Thank you Patrick and Lynne for allowing us to visit and we just love your dogs. Till next time.

Great little cabin in the woods. It was perfect for our needs. We appreciated the blackout curtains on every window. The lack of a shower took a little getting used to, but we made the best of it. The whole place was just lovely & on a quiet little street. Thanks for a great stay.

If you are looking for a central location to explore Girdwood, this is a cute little cabin that is clean, has everything you need, and is centrally located. The bathtub was our favorite feature. There are a lot of neighbors around, but if you stick to the backyard, there is a nice bonfire pit surrounded by woods that helps to feel a little more private. The owners are great communicators and have plenty of recommendations. If you are looking for a centrally located place, it’s a good landing spot for your explorations.
