Amhuinsuidhe Castle near to Amhainn Suidhe, Na h-Eileanan an Iar, Great Britain. The B887 road runs right through the grounds in front of the house and out through the gateway in the distance. The house was built in 1865 for the 7th Earl of Dunmore, the then owner of the Isle of Harris.

Amhuinnsuidhe Castle Amhuinnsuidhe Castle dates from 1868. Built by architect David Bryce in the Scottish Baronial style for Charles Murray, the 7th Earl of Dunmore. This is a fine country house and looks out into Loch Leosavay, an opening in West Loch Tarbert. The castle and estate passed through the hands of Lord Leverhulme, the Scott family and Sir Thomas Sopwith, the aircraft-manufacturing tycoon, it’s also been owned by the Bulmer (cider) family. The castle was separated from much of its North Harris estate following a buy-out by the local community in 2002. It's now used for sporting events and corporate entertaining

Perfect, relaxing stay
We had a very relaxing holiday in a very nice location. Weather was typically Scottish as was expected but it did not detract from a nice week.

Luskentyre Beach
The isle of Harris is famous for it's scenery. Rocky hillside surrounded by white, sandy beaches and tropical coloured waters, it's seriously beautiful. My grandfather was from here and we like to go visit from time to time. A tour of the western isles is a must if you go to Scotland and especially if you like beaches!
