Never met the house but all around a great property very cool for vacations and the staff was very kind of considerate towards me even when they probably shouldn't have been
We really enjoyed our weekend away hiking at Palo Duro and staying at the Wagon Wheel House. It had everything we needed. The owner was an incredible communicator…changing our dates when needed and making it so easy. She even took care of a little cute raccoon issue. I would definitely recommend staying here if you’re in the area!
Loved the cleanliness of the property, the amenities provided, the ease of acess to the nearest city (fuel station in 3 miles), and a quite neighborhood.
Would love to come back here.
Perfect space for our needs! We loved being close enough to Palo Duro and Amarillo for easy day trips. The spacious living room gave us plenty of room and the kitchen was great for preparing most of our meals at home.
Our family of 5 planned a long weekend in Amarillo to visit Palo Duro Canyon and chose to stay here. We couldn't have been happier with the choice - the property was fantastic for our family. It had plenty of space both indoor and out to spread out and was well laid out for both family time and sleeping. I would highly recommend this place for anyone planning a trip to Amarillo who needs a few bedrooms for their family.
Facilities were perfect for what we needed. Saw numerous dear during our stay. Close enough to Amarillo and Palo Duro for sightseeing but far enough away to see stars at night.
We loved our stay . Enjoyed Palo dura canyon and Caprock . Lots of hiking and wildlife seen the deer and wildlife at the property was nice to see . The jeep tour was amazing . We will be back maybe in the Fall when temps are much cooler
They had everything we needed! It's a house with history built into the rock in the canyon only 20 minutes to Palo Duro where we hiked. We ate dinner in the enclosed porch watching the beautiful sunsets and the funny mule deer.
Loved the place! Front porch and outdoor area were great. Had lots of deer come visit and hang out. Only thing I will say is my sisters and I are old ladies so the stairs were alittle much for them but no one complained! Lol our host was a jewel and her family helped us get a lost dog home!
Beautifully renovated interior of the home with all you need for your stay. Fully equipped kitchen was nice and washer and dryer were a plus. Home is in quiet neighborhood but outside of property is a bit run down in appearance. Felt a bit uneasy when we first drove up to property but overall is was a good place to stay if hiking in Palo Duro Canyon.
The host is amazing she answers questions fast and easy to reach. The house is perfect for a quiet relaxing getaway. Inside its cozy and cool. The area has wildlife like just walk up to you. The outside area has lights so we played card games and made s'mores. We will definitely coming back next summer. Overall an amazing trip. Thank you 😊
Overall it was good. The bedding & linens were nice. Roomy living area - big enough for our whole family. The sleeper sofa was ok. We brought our own air mattresses to use for 2 of our younger ones. The location was nice but the actual neighborhood was very sketchy. The ice maker did not dispense ice and the hot water in the large bathroom was not very hot. It would also be nice to have some directions for using the heater. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Thanks .
We appreciated the relative closeness to Palo Duro and Amarillo, and the cleanliness of the house. The exterior is dated but clean. There were plenty of towels, extra bedding, dishes, and games. It was a very hot weekend and the air conditioners worked great! Please be advised that one bedroom does not have a fan or cooling unit, and you must climb some stairs to enter the house. These were not problems for us, but I would want other people to know before they book.
We really enjoyed our weekend stay here. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The neighborhood is nice and quiet. We only had 2 complaints. The first is that in the listing, it shows water and a playground, but they are not actually close to the house. The water is actually across the street behind other properties and we never saw the playground. The other thing we had an issue with was that the heating system, while easy to operate, didn’t keep one of the bedrooms warm. It was cold enough to see your breath!
