The view of the city from the terrace was amazing. Very professional and friendly staff. They recommended round transportation from Rome to Amalfi. We had a great driver.

Absolutely wonderful small, family owned hotel just a block or two from the center of the town of Amalfi, about a half mile from the water. Amalfi town is very crowded, but lots of shops and good restaurants at reasonable prices Villa Lara is set on top of a hill, and you can take a tiny elevator up to the lobby. The entire staff is so friendly and accommodating. The rooms and common areas are very nice and immaculately kept. Both the sleeping area and bathroom were very large for Europe, and in great condition. The rates are an incredible deal for the Amalfi Coast. We couldn't have been happier with our stay at Villa Lara.

The view from the outdoor balcony, particularly when having breakfast is a sight to behold. Also fantastic service from the fantastic team at Villa Lara, Luca, Nello, Valeria, Enzo and Pietro. A bit of a walk up from the centre of Amalfi, particularly with luggage, but not overly onerous.

Has super nice view, high elevated over the city not to many stairs since there is an elevator. Also you have parking works like a valet service but cost about the same that an outside parking. Recommend

I'd give this place 10 stars out of 5 if I could!
I would stay at Villa Lara over and over again. The place is has 7 guest rooms, very quaint with a gorgeous view and exceptional customer service! The staff was so friendly, they went out of their way for us. A couple of examples: when our son stayed in bed while we had breakfast on the balcony, the gentleman who was working at the desk (I wish I would have gotten his name) popped his head out and asked if we would like to fill up a tray to take our son breakfast. And the next morning when my daughter was sitting on a chair without a cushion, he came up and took a cushion off of another chair when he noticed that her chair didn't have one. So many details that made this place special!

It was a bit difficult to find and stressful to drive to during the day with single file traffic and many pedestrians. Lovely rooms and near everything. Car parking is fine by one of the staff at 30 Euros daily. If you are driving, leave early in the morning. Overall, great experience and lovely views from the terraces.

Beautiful Villa Lara at the top and end of the Main Street in Amalfi! Best view from their rooms and breakfast terrace. Delicious breakfast!! Staff are wonderful and rooms very clean and comfy. You won’t be disappointed!

Amalfi’s No1 Boutique Hotel.
Truly beautiful exclusive boutique hotel, located at the quiet end of the town. With just seven rooms and a few small suites this hotel offers one of the best terrace views to enjoy breakfast or a glass of local wine, cocktail or beer. Nello, Luca and the team are warm friendly hosts and make you feel special and welcome . The rooms are spotlessly clean, spacious, quiet, calm, air-conditioned and well furnished. The beds have cool premium cotton sheets Breakfast is pastries, yogurts, cereal and coffee, juice etc . Our only suggestion for the hotel is to perhaps serve some more cold meats and cheeses at breakfast. A fabulous hotel and would book again!

Not a hotel for anyone who doesn’t like climbing stairs. It’s some way up the hill from the centre of Amalfi and has lots of internal stairs at entrance, to communal areas and to rooms. Great views when you get there, though. We had a jacuzzi in our room (?why) but there was nowhere to put down the soap or shampoo in the somewhat rickety shower. Breakfast was fine, a bit limited but great coffee.

Water supply to town was disrupted for several hours …toilets and shower did not work. Hotel did not inform us when we returned from Capri. No partial refund. Otherwise, good but you can do better for $!

Villa Lara was perched on a spur of granite just past the busy area of Amalfi. Amalfi is beautiful and fascinating but I found it helpful to be in such a quiet location. It was easily reachable via an elevator and had a wonderful terrace to look out towards the sea. The room was spacious. I loved the shower fittings in the tiled bathroom. My particular room looked out on the mountains behind Amalfi. The breakfast consisted of prepackaged foods, apparently in deference to Covid concerns. I didn’t do much price comparison but the rate seemed high.

This place was amazing. It was our favorite place in a month of traveling in Europe. The staff was fantastic, the complimentary breakfast on the patio overlooking the ocean was wonderful, our room was lovely, the bed was super comfy. Would definitely recommend.

Villa Lara was a wonderful property, we had a beautiful room and our hosts were great and made us feel right at home. The property had very nice views, and was quiet, even though it was only a five minute walk to the center of Amalfi. Would love to visit again!

Location was just off the chaos of the main strip. Amalfi is pretty small so everything was within walking distance. Room was small but met all of our needs. Staff was wonderful from setting up car service to and from Naples, to giving recommendations for dinner and excursion. Both emails and personal conversations were friendly.

Your reservations mean nothing for them!
We had a reservation for them and when we got there they sold our room! However they still charged our credit card! We had rebook our rooms in another hotel and all this after a 11hr flight and a 3 hr drive

Amazing Spot. We couldn’t have been happier.
We couldn’t have been more delighted. Everyone at Villa Lara made our stay so special - they truly wanted everything to be perfect for their guests. We arrived quite late, and Luigi waited up for us, carried our bags up the steps, and pointed out all of the amenities for our stay. Names escape me, but the staff had a delicious breakfast and cappuccinos waiting for us each morning. We felt like part of their family. The view from the terrace is breathtaking. We are very active people, so we did the 200+ stair climb a few times to get to our room from the street. We also sat outside one evening and shared a bottle of wine out on the terrace. We highly recommend Villa Lara - they will make your vacation unforgettable.

Beautiful little gem in the heart of Amalfi
My husband and I decided to travel last minute from Ischia to Amalfi, and we were so lucky to be greeted by Martina and the team upon arrival. even upgraded us for free which was a nice surprise on a rainy Amalfi day. The room was bright, clean, nice and airy with a little skylight on our rooftop. Breakfast was simple with a selection of pastries, yoghurt and scrambled eggs and ham/cheese platter available on request, but ample and absolutely stunning from the Terrace. The team also helped with directions when needed and even helped us get to our kayaking destination. Big shout out to Luigi as well as he was always there to say good night. One of the best places we could have booked on our honeymoon!

Lovely hotel in the heart of Amalfi
It was a great trip. I was there spending quality time with my sister and we really had a great stay. The hotel is located in the main street in Amalfi but a bit away from the busiest area - believe me, we LOVED THIS! This meant we could enjoy quiet moments but also throw ourselves into the crowd and the sounds whenever we wanted! Additionally, the hotel is really close to the stairs that take you from Amalfi to Ravello - a MUST do for anyone in Amalfi and to see some of the best sceneries I have even seen in my life. The breakfast was rich and the staff extremely nice. Happy to exchange couple of chats, give proper advices for must dos in the area and restaurants to try! Honestly, they were super, really representing the sunny 'Campania's personality'! Room was very nice, clean daily and with lovely shower! Thanks so much for our staying, we loved it!

Nice hotel high above the village, wonderful view from the balcony. Don't take the stairs like I did, there are 216 stairs, take the elevator instead. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This is an amazing place to stay. It is removed from the crowds in Amalfi and is tranquil and relaxing. It is striking in its setting and its construction. The staff are wonderful - friendly and helpful with all our needs. We would definitely recommend it for an enchanting stay in the Amalfi coast. We would definitely return!

Spot-on hotel on La Costiera Amalfitana!
The combination of the Villa Lara's layout, location, and service makes this hotel a must-visit on your next journey to the Amalfi Coast! Our 3-night stay at the end of June capped off our 10-day Italy adventure leaving us wanting just one more day! The hotel is located just up the street from a public parking garage if you plan on driving in and thankfully has an elevator lift as an alternative to the 200+ stairs which you can choose to take if you want to get those Fitbit #'s up. The staff was excellent - we had a blast hanging out with Nello, Luigi, Lucca & Pietro and the rest! Our room was large enough for myself, husband our 9 year old son, and was clean, updated and featured a great view of the cliffs & sea! Breakfast was served every morning on the terazza and featured all the great foods you want for breakfast when you are in Italy - and the ceramic plates and cups- I wanted to buy them! We were sad to leave and hope to return again in the near future!
