My stay at the Hotel La pergola was ok. The staff was friendly and helpful. They were respectful and approachable. One of the breakfast staff even went out of his way twice to make us more eggs when they ran out and personally brought them to our table. The location is really nice, it's only 2km from Amalfi which can be walked to and from in about 20 mins. Just make sure you are ready for the inclines and hills!!!! The city bus does stop in front of the hotel and you can purchase your tickets at the front desk. They also have a nice restaurant on the top floor, their food is decent however, a little bit overpriced if you ask me. I will give this hotel 3 out 5 starts for the following reasons.
1. The 1st floor rooms are a lot smaller than what they seem to be online, yes some of them have balconies which can help with the size situation. Same goes with the shower, its just big enough to fit inside but once you close the doors you will feel somewhat claustrophobic.
2. We had the misfortune to have my wife's hair straightener dissappear. For a moment, we thought we might have left it at home, but after getting home we still can't find it. We told the hotel receptionist and the reponse wasn't what, as a guest you want to hear. "Everyone here have been working a long time, no one would take anything" Which i find kind of weird, why get so defensive? But whatever we bought another one and moved on. I just hope it was all a mistake and it wasn't taken on purpose.
