The tiniest hotel room I‘ve ever seen. You could only enter the bed from one side and the shower doors only opened less than 2ft. No parking, no restaurant. Doors are locked 24/7, and the rooms are locked with gigantic old-fashioned keys that don‘t fit in any pockets (note, you also need to lock the room door from the inside, something that I haven‘t seen in a hotel in decades). I had my dog with me, and the dog fee, 40€, was the highest I‘ve ever seen anywhere in the world. You get absolutely nothing for the dog fee - no bed, bowls or treats, and the garden is off limits to dogs. The location isn‘t great either. I‘m not sure what was going on in Allevard in late July, but I spent a good deal of time walking around the dirty, messy village looking for a restaurant that actually was open. On the positive side the hotel is very clean and the AC works.
