"Our 4th year here — and that probably says it all! This year was 7 teenagers and 2 adults, and everyone had a fantastic time.Check-in was easy, communication with Janet was great before and during our stay, and the cottage was clean and well stocked. The binders with cottage and local information are really helpful too.We noticed a LOT of upgrades since last year, including some things we weren’t expecting. After four years, it’s really nice to see the continued investment and care that Janet and Nelson put into the property. With 7 teenagers, we needed to make sure they kept busy! We brought our own ATVs, paddle boards, badminton net, Spikeball and bocce ball. They also loved the canoe, kayaks and paddle boat, plus swimming, fishing, campfires, cornhole, walking and exploring. After the campfire, the kids played cards and games in the main cottage, then headed to the basement for board games and old VHS movies from the cottage library. Seven teenagers happily watching VHS tapes was pretty funny! The lake and area are so quiet and peaceful, and everyone we ran into was so friendly. There is tons of space for your own activities, which is a huge bonus with a big group. Our biggest pest was the stable flies — obviously not something Janet can control. Cell service is best by the lake, but I’m not complaining about that either! The 17-year-old boys told me they had the best week ever and would never forget it. Honestly, that’s probably the best review we could give "
Holiday on beautiful Haliburton Lake!!
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful view, clean place, on the lake, enjoyed the canoe, paddle boards, paddle boat. Peaceful, relaxing, tranquil, highly recommended. Spacious, internet, tv, all appliances, the owners were very friendly, checked in with us, we will definitely be back again. This property was close to our family cottage land that we grew up in over the years before it was sold. Love the area, great convenience stores to get supplies. "
Luxurious log cottage with 600-feet of waterfront, 90 Acres.
10/10 Excellent
"Our family thoroughly enjoyed an unforgettable week at the "Gottage." From relaxing on the dock and evenings around the firepit to friendly competitions at the pool table and ping pong table, there was something for everyone. The entertainment centre and wonderful collection of games kept us laughing long into the evenings. We especially appreciated how well-equipped the cottage is for families with young children. Having a crib, Diaper Genie, high chair, baby gates, toys galore and children's life jackets already available made travelling with little ones so much easier and allowed everyone to relax and enjoy their stay. The natural setting was simply spectacular. We were treated to visits from a mamma bear and her two very young cubs enjoying the berries nearby, along with chipmunks, loons, herrings, hummingbirds, wild turkeys and the soothing sounds of owls calling at night. It was a true Haliburton experience. The cottage itself is exceptionally well-appointed, thoughtfully equipped and has everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay."

10/10 Excellent
"Amazing location, everything a cabin vacation spot should be"
Sandy Shores Cabin on Lake St. Peter with Fire Pit+BBQ
8/10 Good
"First the pluses. He beach was absolutely perfect for the little grandchildren as well as adults. Sand was clean and the water was quite shallow all the way to the dock. After that the water was deep and perfect for swimming. We all had a great time. Now the negatives. The cottage did not come with all the amenities listed. There is no air conditioning and the tv is an antique. The photos make the interior look larger than it actually is. The pic from the beach was misleading. The actual cottage is not the gray log cottage that is front and centre - it is the much smaller little red building on the very edge of the picture. The initial condition of the property was terrible however after contacting the host, cleaners were sent and they did a very good job of making it check in ready. According to the cleaners there was an issue coordinating calendars. I don’t expect that experience to be repeated. The cleaning crew was efficient, friendly and very apologetic."

"Property was very clean. Great layout. Easy steps to the dock and the water, although can be slippery in the rain. Was no joke about black fly season early June."
