Tivoli Carvoeiro 2nd Visit somewhat lacking
This was our 2nd stay at Tivoli Carvoeiro, our first being in 2011, long before the current redevelopment. The head waiter even claimed to remember us from our first stay.
We were a little concerned prior to our arrival this time because we knew parts of the hotel were still not yet complete. However, to their credit we were welcomed with open arms and the lobbies, restaurants, rooms and poolside facilities were all up and running well. The food was all varied, delicious and well prepared for the most part.
The unfinished parts of the Tivoli included the Spa and indoor pool, however, this did not detract from our stay. We have been to this area 3 times now and though well equipped with lovely beaches and a fairly raffish and popular restaurant and bar culture, there wasn't much to do in Carvoeiro itself. To this, we found that our hire car was an invaluable addition to our stay, as we do know this area quite well already.
