Not so great apartment
This place for a 4 start apartment felt rundown, walls all scratched and dirty, broken corners, dirty floors. Air Con units really old and barely felt any air coming out. After speaking with the reception they called their handyman to see what he could do and they just cleaned the air filters but was pretty much the same. They did offer to call me the next day to change apartments but never did. The beach and pools being the highlight of the place. Would come back to Salgados but better off staying in an airbnb for what you pay to stay here.

Impressive apartment with an excellent veranda, however the veranda privacy mesh was not existent on our apartment, so did not the privacy to use the varanda for meals or hang out, all other apartment had them. All else was really awesome with that exception.

Lovely, spacious apartment. The complex has many swimming pools so it didn’t feel over crowded at all. Staff were very helpful and polite. Use of the spa shower facilities on the last day was very helpful as we had a late check out. The 10 minute walk to the beach was easy and picturesque. Although the facilities in the apartment were good, some of the furniture was old, scratched and rickety. Showers were just about ok but you would expect large head, power showers in this sort of place ( like the ones in the spa). You can walk to a small supermarket but there are no bars or restaurants in close walking distance. Overall a great apartment and we would stay at this complex again.

Amazing relaxing holiday in portugal. Many nice small pools with plenty of space, great food and cocktails at pool bar. Good supermartket. Short taxi ride to interesting night life. Short walk to beautiful beach. Would be lovely for families too.

Better every time
I've travelled to Salgados Vila das Lagoas 3 times in the last 4 years and it is a brilliant resort for a family. The villas are very comfortable and spacious. Location wise you are within walking distance of the beach or have a number of pools to relax at. I used the gym on a number of occasions and it is well equipped.

We've stayed here on several occasions. Villas are large and clean and modern. We love the quiet, clean neighbourhood. Close to the beach and beautiful pools.Very quiet with just one grocery shop and a handful of restaurants on the beach. Ideal for rest and recuperation. Gym available 5 euros per visit. Tennis courts onsite. Pool snack bar which is run privately could be so much better...

The flat was good but not woww
We stayed in a 3 bedroom flat for 9days. The flat was big with plenty of space for 6 adults and 1 baby walking around. Walking distance to the pool and beach. The area and surroundings are lovely but the details are a disaster. There was no juice machine as promised and cleaning everyday is a joke. Our bathrooms were full of black mould. Sinks were always getting blocked. You expect a flat like the one in pictures but no. Wood is not well taken care and the rug on floor is so dirty. It seems they don’t get the small details right, that make a stay enjoyable. For example to get or return beach towels you have to go to the reception which is pretty far from the pools. The staff and overall services are not very professional: lack of english at bar, not happy and not super efficient. This place could be a luxury destination and they sell you that but it is not what you get.

Fantastic well run resort with immaculate pools, nice casual open dining by the pools with good food options and priced reasonably. Condos very spacious with huge balconies, well equipped.and nice bathrooms. Housekeeping good and endless supply of towels. Located straight across the road from beautiful large beach accessed by scenic boardwalk. God's choice of nearby dining but recommend car hire for stay. The only.fault is mattresses are not the most comfortable. Top class hotel and I highly recommend.

Generally this is a nice hotel with good facilities, not far from Albufeira and the local marine park and the apartments were spacious and clean. I guess my areas to highlight would be the lack of a heated pool despite there been many many pools on both the Villa Das Lagoas and its neighbouring sister sites. The apartment could have had some more basics in it like a dishwasher tablet or two and maybe a little bit of washing up liquid and a cloth (we left ours and am sure others do). Also we felt very let down at check in due to lack of any assistance which meant my heavily pregant wife, 1 year old daughter and myself having to carry several bags the entire length of the resort unaided. Finally, we found the staff at check in to be unhelpful and unwilling to offer basic information on amenities and places to eat although when i went back a couple of days later i found the lady at the desk much more helpful. So i think it was reasonable but we hoped for better.

This was our second visit to Vila das Lagoas, and we will be returning. The apartments were very roomy, clean throughout and well equipped from wifi to crockery. The Reception staff i encountered were always helpful and friendly.

Disastrous start to the holiday!
Unfortunately after a good check in and nice room we returned to our apartment after a swim with our children to discover our room had been broken into. My partners bag with valuables and her camera were taken. We soon discovered the sliding doors to the balcony on the ground floor were faulty. The GM (Pedro) attended but did want come close to the doors to witness the issue. We were then moved to another ground floor to discover by Victor (Duty Manager) that another door would not lock. As you could imagine with 3 children under 6, this was becoming very distressing. The venue was self catering but as we did not want to leave until this was sorted we could not get food or drink for the children and was not offered anything by the resort. Pedro said " your children are not my concern"! We were finally moved after 10pm to the 3rd floor apartment, which put my partner more at ease. Due to legal reasons the NAU Group would not commit in writing that the doors were faulty even though they admitted to us in a meeting that they were faulty . The due care and customer service was non existent and they were just trying to retain a reputation of being a safe venue. It put a complete dampener on my partners 40th birthday and we wasted several days trying to sort the issue with the police, cancelling cards and speaking to insurance companies. The GM did not believe this happened to us and just kept saying we are a safe venue!

Fantastic hotel with everything you need.
I had lost my passport on route to the hotel so I arrived really distressed. The front desk staff was very reassuring and mentioned that they would do anything to help and assisted us to settle in that night. The apartment was very spacious with a full kitchen so it was nice that we could make food and chill out in the morning. The supermarket was a bit small but had all the essentials. The hotel was close to the beach and that was fantastic. The staff were always very polite and professional.

This property is not like the images advertised. Having arrived at 11.45pm I was given an apartment that had a lot of ants in the fridge where it hadn't been cleaned properly. I complained and was offered two other apartments, the first one was run down and the furniture should have been put in a skip so I rejected this, the second one was not much better as the air con didn't work, was dirty, and had ants in most rooms, but at midnight we needed somewhere to sleep the night, so stayed in the room but said that I wanted to be moved in the morning. The following day I complained to the manager and was offered a room in the Salgados Dunas Suites hotel, as a better apartment couldn't be offered. Be aware these are basic apartments with worn out furnishings and not very clean, nothing like the advertised images.

Honest review. Lovely place to stay well looked after and nice reception staffs who speak English. When visiting please get an Uber/taxi or hire a car. Transfer shuttle will go round half of Portugal before getting to the destination which is the last stop. A 40 mins journey took us 2 hours. It’s not a place for party or watever it’s very quiet mostly for relaxing with family or partner. Lots of pools and well looked after Supermarket close by. Enjoyed my stay as I was looking to relax but lacks entertainment

Luxury serviced apartments, clean & spacious
Arriving at the Salgados Vilas de Lagoas in the middle of the night, I was not sure what to expect. Was met by friendly helpful staff member "Hugo" who took us to our room in a golf cart even though they do not offer such service. We got a huge 3 bedroom apartment (sleeps 6 people), for the 3 of us (myself, wife and 11month old child). They had forgotten to provide the Crib for baby (as requested at booking), but promptly provided at request on the day. The apartments are fully serviced everyday inc, cleaning, replacing bedding & towel refresh every 3rd day. Kitchen was fully equipped including washing up liquid, new sponges, soap powder and dishwasher liquid! Totally unexpected. Location is great, generally quiet and minutes from beautiful Salgados Beach. 7 swimming pools and a kids paddling pool, you never feel over crowded. Staff go above and beyond to help you. I hurt my back and "John" drove me to the another resort to see the on site medic. Negatives: The apartments are all fully tiled, so if you are unfortunate to have the lower levels you hear every footstep, scraping table, movement from people/kids and cleaners. We were unfortunate one night to have a bunch of hooligans who partied all night. Had to report them which was dealt with but not as promptly as I would have wished. The onsite food at the restaurant and snack bar prices at the resort are extortionate to put it lightly, €4.50 for bottled water when it costs €0.75 at local supermarket sums it up.

A lovely stay as always
We go back to Vila das Lagoas every year for a week and never regret it. The appartments are clean, comfortable, with fully equipped kitchens, personal wi-fi, cable TV, air con and everything else you could possibly need. Location is perfect for the beach and, with a car, you are within 30 minutes of a shopping centre and dozens of restaurants and attractions.

Overall we were very happy. Only issue was lack of tea/coffee / breakfast open @ approx 10 am in the central pool area. A tip is that there is a nice little coffee shop beside the Supermarket. The area is approx €15 taxi ride to Albufeira. Approx 10 min walk to beach.

Great villas, lovely hotel grounds.
Our three bed villa was clean, spacious and the kitchen really useful. We self catered mixed with eating out in the nearby towns. The swimming pools were clean and there there were always plenty of sun beds available. The staff were excellent, eager to please and always very polite and helpful. We were able to check in early too! So helpful. We used the tennis courts but the indoor pool was not in use which was disappointing.

The Apartment were excellent but there was nothing much else on offer in terms of entertainment, the food and drinks were to expensive and sub standard wirh a limited selection

Great apartments
We've been before and we love the beach - apartments are big, clean and have everything you need - bathrooms are slightly tired. Lots of pools although they're all quite deep so not ideal for little non-swimmers - there is one toddlers paddling pool. Lovely staff, very well maintained grounds. It's a shame there isn't more places in easy walking distance but Gale beach restaurants about 20/30 minute walk. The complex is quiet at night - no real entertainment/kids club but it's perfect for our family.

Great hotel/Apartments, 40 mins drive from the airport friendly staff we was late for check in and due to flight delay but still guessed who I was on arrival at reception small thing but they count. the rooms have only 2 keys cant get any more and a key cards for the gates. Apartments where huge so much space in the living room! A little far out from anything major to do and will have to get taxis, but most of the excursions had pick up and drop off from your hotel. Beach is walking distance and very nice. loads of swimming pools, all round with varying depths. top spa facilities, slightly on the high price.

Spacious and sunny but worn apartment
The location was very good and quite tranquil though there are many families with small children. Our 3 bedroom flat was large, sunny and comfortable for the 5 adults in our family. The lovely beach is close and the nearby nature preserve is beautiful with a long boardwalk. A car is essential to get around and there are nice supermarkets nearby. Go to the Mercado Municipal in Armacao de Para for excellent fish and fresh produce. The apartment complex, though nice, has not been updated and shows many signs of wear and tear, hence the lower ratings. Service was generally good and friendly.
