OK, but no air conditioning, so very hot rooms.

Hotel is a little tired, and not the freshest smelling in some corridors. The air-con didn't work in either room, so it was very warm and sticky in the rooms, even with fans on. On the plus side, staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good. Pool is nice, if small.

Nice bank holiday break.

I had a great experience at the Derbyshire, the check in was smooth, the rooms were ok, the spa was great and the breakfast was great too. The location was 5 minutes from a huge outlet mall whichcwas handy.

Pros: Convenience of location
Location: Peaks district national park is 20 minutes away plus an outlet centre is just 2 minutes by car.
Friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable facilities. Good value.

Good hotel & location

Posted 06-May-2015 on Hotels
Stayed 2 nights while visiting friends and usually stay at the Travelodge so this made a nice change, especially with the pool. Room and bathroom both clean, warm and usual toiletries provided. Bed was quite soft but that suited us. Didn't spend much time in the room to be honest but it was perfectly adequate. Good to have an iron & board in the room, hairdryer also provided. Used the pool once, towels are provided and changing rooms have hairdryers also. Free parking and lots of it. Didn't eat in the hotel but had an evening meal & one breakfast in the Brewers Fare across the road which was okay. Didn't hear any motorway traffic or indeed any noise from other rooms around or above us. All in all a good location and standard, would stay again. Very close to the shopping outlet centre which was quite tempting!

Nice room but £20 extra for a late checkout?

Posted 28-Apr-2015 on Hotels
Can't fault the room at all really, apart from the fact the toilet seat didn't stay up without holding it and a small issue with the key cards. The only thing I found a little annoying was the £20 charge for a late check out of 2 extra hours. Room was clean and comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful.

pleasant comfortable hotel convenient location for road links. polite friendly staff and clean rooms, only personal negatives were no food available after 10pm except room service with high tray charge and beds quite soft so not good for me as I need firm support for back

Mostly friendly people we have ever met. Breakfast wasn't great but we did get up late. Loved it. Could of gone for a week :)
