Alderney Railway

This was our 2nd the stay. The best thing is the magnificent view over Braye beach. The hotel was lovely but a little tired in places. The bedrooms and bathrooms needed decorating. A little attention to detail was needed. The staff did their best but sometimes lacked direction. We did enjoy our stay and the food was generally very good.

Our attic room was very disappointing; dark with only small windows from which you could see the roof opposite. There did not appear a cohesive fire escape plan in an old building with lots of twisty hallways and stairs. It was noisy in the evening until 1 am from the pub next door (which belonged to the hotel) and the karaoke night was excruciating! Breakfast was adequate. The hotel was centrally situated but I would not plan to stay there again.
