The Space:

Mountain View Cabin by Tiny Away is a cosy farm stay in the South Island, New Zealand, located in Albury – Gateway to the Mackenzie Country. Perched on a hillside and surrounded by native plantings and expansive skies, this peaceful tiny house offers a relaxing countryside escape.



Explore nearby Lake Tekapo, the Church of the Good Shepherd, Lake Opuha near Fairlie, and the breathtaking mountain scenery and walks of Mount Cook.



Inside, this 139-square-foot tiny home features easy access to water, split-system air conditioning, a well-equipped kitchenette, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste tank, a hand basin, and a gas-heated shower.



IMPORTANT NOTE: If you're booking for a group, we have two holiday homes Mountain View Cabin 1 and 2, available with 24 hours' notice.



Guest Access:

Guests have access to the tiny home and fenced cabin area, while paddock access is strictly prohibited due to farm operations and safety hazards.

Enjoy a cosy farm stay in South Island, New Zealand, with our relaxing holiday homes providing a comfortable base for exploring local favourites like Fairlie Bakehouse, Little Bean South, and Mt Hutt Takeaways. Groceries and essentials are also available at Four Square supermarket in Fairlie.



Getting Around:

By car:



-40 minutes from Fairlie

-45 minutes from Timaru

-1 hour from Lake Tekapo

- 2.5 hours from Christchurch Airport

By public transport: Not available.



Other Things to Note:

- No pets allowed

- Gas BBQ grill is available.

- Free Potable water is available

- Children under 16 years old are not allowed

- No smoking inside or outside the tiny home

- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed

- Check-in is available during daylight hours only

- Please note that there is no mobile phone signal available on the property.

- Make sure to turn off the lights, AC, electronics, close windows and doors when leaving

- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge



🐮 Farm & Noise



- As this is a working farm, guests may hear tractors, quad bikes, and animal noises.

- The main farmhouse is across the paddock. Please keep noise and vehicle traffic to a minimum after dark.



♻️ Waste & Sustainability



- Composting is encouraged using the provided compost bins.

- Please rinse recyclables and place them in the designated bins.

- Please minimize rubbish, as there is no waste collection service on the property.



🏠 Arrival & Supplies

- The nearest shops are approximately 40 minutes away, so please arrive with all essentials you may need.

- Due to the rural location, guests are encouraged to arrive during daylight hours, with arrival expected before 5:00 pm.



Important note:



- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present in the surrounding areas

- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests.

Guests will enjoy your own private space but we are always happy to chat with you.
