In the 1970s when Indian jewelry, pots and sandpaintings were popular, Native American artists worked here and sold their wares. Galleria de Cervantes brings back the spirit of that time. It is filled with many forms of Indian and Hispanic arts and also a variety of art from contemporary southwest artists. New Mexico galleries often featured a guest room in the building since many collectors came to the area to buy art. This comfortable house hearkens back to this tradition in a setting that includes popular low-rider parades, mariachi competitions, jazz under the stars and one of the most magical Christmas traditions in the country -- luminarias throughout Old Town and neighboring communities.
